Great Adventure.
Traveling alone can be great, if you meet the right people. Going to Freemantle and heading over to Rottnest Island.
Sitting in Freemantle listening to musicians play will eating some fresh fish.
A Settlement Built By Convicts
by keeweechic
Perth was actually founded as a settlement in 1829 but its growth was slow. In 1850 convicts were brought in to increase the labour shortage in the area which followed in many of the wonderful old buildings in Perth being built by convict labour. Perth was always behind the eastern cities of Australia until the discovery of gold in the 1890’s. This not only increased the population but also a building boom – some of which has since disappeared with the growth and modernisation of the city.
Cruise Ships in Perth
by leanne_pearc
Due to the recent Sars scare, the Superstar Virgo has come to Perth for the next 2 months. With its huge success it was fully booked within days and unfortunely i missed out. The prices are cheap in comparsion to other cruises.
Huge cruise liners do come through Perth, but it is a rare occurance, once a year.
In general though, it is worth experiencing a cruise holiday.
Bush 'barbies'
by Pierre_Rouss
What better way to spend a weekend than spending a day in the bush picnicking with friends. Not more than an hour inland from Mandurah can you find Serpentine Falls national park. We took with us lamb shops, burgers, potatoes, corn, plenty of beer and cooler, cooked everything on location on 'barbies' (read BBQ), laid down and enjoyed.
A nearby brook gave us the ideal occasion to swim, dive and splash around to cool from the hot day. Thanks Michael and Kim and friends for a great day.

The Keringke Story
Keringke Arts is an association of Eastern Arrernte artists which formed in 1987. The Keringke Art Centre is part of the Ltyentye Apurte community. In the Eastern Arrernte language, “Ltyentye Apurte” means “group of beefwood trees”, while “Keringke” means “Kangaroo Tracks”. Before its establishment as a Catholic Mission in the early 1950’s, Ltyentye Apurte was a sacred site - a rainmaking place. The community, which has a population of approximately 500 people, is located 80 kilometres south east of Alice Springs, at Santa Teresa, and is situated below two large rocks called “atyenhenge athere”, or grandfather and grandson
