Perth's gem of a hotel
Lovely hotel-spotlessly clean. only 2-3 minutes away from Murray/Hay st Mall area..Slightly costly but worth it..buffet breakfast is a real treat, with good quality food..booked a standard double room. Size ok. If staying with toddler and few luggages, try to book a room where room can be accessed directly from lift so that no need to lug luggages through stairs steps. Request ahead during booking before check in - Same for cot if need one. A nice made up cot will be ready with room when check in.
Unique Quality: Clean room and washroom - in standard double room, shower comes with a small bathtub..not big but ok for asian size.
Old-fashioned lift-great with the children..lends a nice touch..
Nice interior decorating at sitting lounge
Restaurant - serves great quality food, besides their well known buffet, ala-carte food is just as good..

Lovely boutique hotel
We love this small lovely hotel immediately at the moment we step in. There are many art drawing decos. There is a old lift at the lobby but no immediate to the room. You may need to carry the luggage for few step of staircase depend on the room assigned. So make sure man is strong enough :) (you may click "more photos" so you will get what i mean)
We stayed at room "Lappland"
The room is spacious and clean. There is shower and bathtub in the bathroom. Shampoo and bath gel are provided but no tooth brush for our superior queen room. A small bed is added without additional charge but pre-arrangement is required.
We pay A$229 incl breakfast and dinner for two adult & 1 kid (under 4years). it is such a good deal to us.
Unique Quality: The hotel is at shopping centre area. There are some carpark in front of the hotel along the road side but have to grab fast. Do read the parking sign carefully because it charges differently at different timing. We are unable to get the carpark in front of the hotel due to late arrival.
We parked our car at a open space in wellington which cost around $15 but later realise that there are multistorey carpark. Not sure the charge thru.

perth's best hotel
miss maud's is in an absolutely perfect perth location...easy walking to just about everywhere. i had a lovely room on the top floor across the roof garden area...quiet and had my own roof garden to lounge in...very few other guests came up here. nice room...total comfort, great bed, compact but excellently outfitted bathroom, etc.
staff were helpful and friendly; some good restaurant suggestions and able and willing to answer questions.
miss maud's breakfasts are legendary and i sure indulged...must have gained five pounds!!!
highly recommend miss maud's...
Unique Quality: all of the typical swedish attention to creature comfort...an absolutely wonderful location...wish they were a chain.

Swedish style hotel in Perth
Miss Maud's has transferred an Aussie version of Swedish country style to the centre of Perth. The location in Murray Street is as convenient as can be, only one blockaway from the shopping malls, within walking distance of all the centre's attractions and a few metres from a stop of the Red CAT bus.
The best about staying there is definitely the huge breakfast buffet. Our room was a bit small and dark but generally all right. The old lift didn't look too trustworthy to me but worked fine.
I feel sorry, though, for the restaurant employees because their uniforms, errrm, aren't exactly pretty.

- GREAT breakfast included
It is refreshing to find a hotel with REAL CHARACTER and a place you don't have to look at the paper to see which city you are staying in. Miss Maud's hotel is UNIQUE
Creaking floor boards, ancient lift system, a resident ghost or three, corridors that remind me of a spiders web and spread over 2 residential floors - and the real clincher is VERY friendly staff. While I jokingly refer to Miss Maud's as the "Swedish Fawlty Towers" that I should add is a lie. It's a great place to stay for business or pleasure.
Centrally located in the city centre of Perth and easy walking distance to Perth's main railway station and the Hay Street Mall, Miss Mauds hotel is a great find.
Single rooms well-appointed although a little small, they come complete with tea/coffee making facilities, fridge, modern bathroom, double bed (queen size in many rooms) and a wide screen TV and individual reverse cycle split system air conditioning.
The lobby area is small, however the staff (24 hour reception) will make sure all is well.
Disabled visitors are advised to check with the hotel prior, as access to rooms by wheel chair patrons is difficult.
Unique Quality: The great feature of Miss Mauds is breakfast - an all you can eat challenge that is guarenteed to put on kilos of weight, unless you are very careful. Breakfast is included in the room price.
Full smorgesbord lunch and dinner available - and I can really recommend dinner. Except for drinks, ALL INCLUDED. Oysters, cold selection, hot carvery, desserts to really tempt (and add on so much weight) and a great selection of cheeses. Coffee and tea also included. House guests receive a discount for lunch or dinner.
Still hungry - Miss Maud's has a take-a-way section where so many of their tasty treats are available - and the best coffee in Perth too

Small hotel with great food
The hotel is well located in the centre of Perth, walking distance from most attractions. It's a nice place, with two kinds of rooms: Nordic (smaller, cheaper) and Scandinavian (more spacious and more expensive). I stayed in a Nordic room, it was perfectly appropriate.
Unique Quality: Miss Maud is famous for their Smorgasbord breakfast (included in the room price). It is really good, though after reading all the raving reviews, I expected even more exciting food...
The restaurant also offers Smorgasbord lunch and dinner, and the hotel has a lovely pastry shop.
