Perth airport accomodation

by miki64

Where to sleep near the airport for an early flyght without spend a lot of money?

Re: Perth airport accomodation

by buffybird

If flying into Perth International Airport your out of luck as its pretty isolated and you will have to travel into perth,

If flying into the domestic airport you can book at the Formula One hotel, rooms are approx $99 per night. A warning though, they are very basic, the hotel is located about 5 km from the airport.

http://www.gemotorlodge.com.au - we often stay here, its located about 10-15km from the domestic airport and is quite nice. Rooms start at $135 p/n but you may be able to pick up cheaper on wotif etc

Travel Tips for Perth

Study hard. Play Hard

by FOotFetish

Hmm..let me see.In fact, there are so many things you can do in Perth. For instance, one could take a ferry to Rottnest Island for scubadiving or cycling. If not, there are heaps of market places ( eg,Subicaco/ Fremantle) which are opened only over the weekends especially cater for those ppl who like vintage stuffs.I would say it;s a good bargain hunt for anything! And then, followed by having a good meal down at Northbridge. MUST TRY: Chilli mussels!
I;m a beach lover.If i can, I would like to be a professional beach bum :P
As I've mentioned below, my favourite beach is Cottlesole or Scarbrough.
I reckon they are equally good...
For those surfer dudes out there, try out the waves.WOohoo! I think I'll miss my car and the weather here whenever I'm back to singapore for my holiday :P
Oh not forgetting the beaches here!
Check it out my favourite beach:Cottlesole--

Go to the beach. I have...

Go to the beach. I have travelled quite extensively and Perth's beaches would have to be amoung the best in the world. They are uncrowded, are very wide and very clean. It is hard to top a hot summer's day spent at somewhere like Cottesloe beach followed by fish and chips at one of the numerous beach cafes. The relaxed lifestyle. A culmination of the beach, fantastic weather and relatively slow pace of life

Red Tailed Black Cockatoo's

by DreamerDan

Always have plenty of film....the flora and fauna in Western Australis is diverse ,unique and plentiful.I think thats why we missed out on huge mountain ranges....God overstocked us with plants and animals. The pic is of Red Tailed Cockatoos photographed near Mullewa in the eastern part of the wheatbelt north of Perth. They feed exclusively on gumnuts as they are the only bird with strong enough beaks to pry apart the nuts to get the seeds. Not endangered but protected and dwindling.

Grass Tree

by keeweechic

The Grass Tree is a native of Australia. The Grass Tree grows about 2.5cm per year, very slow growing but they have a life span of about 600 years. The trunk takes a decade to form initially as it is made up of a mass of old leaf bases which are held together by natural resin. Then the mass of thin linear leaves do not rise above it for about 20 years.

The Aboriginal people had a lot of uses for the Balga or Grass tree. They used the gum from the trunk as superglue. It was mixed with charcoal and kangaroo dung. Couldn’t have smelled very good.

You can see the Grass Tree's all over Perth (and beyond).
