2. bath ,,, how disgusting, was not clean full of facial hair and pubic hair,, not one not two but many
3. room had rubbish on floor from the last person
4. the bible had never been moved or the phone books,, lovely amount of dust
5. i think though u can not beat stains on the bedding,,, in suspicous circles,,,, how sweet,, a present for us,,, the sheets had HOLES IN THEM,, really they shouldnt have been so considerate
6. the lift, the carpet in the lift looked like my out door mat after a storm, it was just filthy
7. broken clothes hangers,, how lazy,, if they break why not throw them, leaving them as a decoration is not the best look
overall, to be honest this hotel is a health hazard and i will contact the health dept, they have a kitchen service one could only imagine what they do to the food

Unique Quality: unique,,,,,, their standard would have to be unique surely no other establishment could be so low

A Room with a View!

Hubby & I recently attended my work Staff Ball and didn't want to travel home after so we booked this Hotel. The price was right.....under $100A and the room had a view over the park leading to the Bell Tower on the river. The room was quite spacious and neat even though the building is quite old.....and you can't hear any traffic noise even though you are on the Esplanade which is quite a busy little street.
Centrally located and a hop, skip & jump to the Swan River, you should have a look at booking this hotel for your next holiday to Perth. Check out the site below.

Affordable Hotel with a GREAT view!!

This is my second time at this hotel. I loved it first time around so I looked no further when looking for accommodation again. I loved it for its brilliant location and its yummy breakfast! This time I was booked into a deluxe non-smoking room. It had a rather small bed (twin) for 2 adults, and a single bed which we didn't need.

The upside:
*************
Friendly and helpful staff with very pleasant disposition, from frontline staff to chef to chambermaids. Shaded parking facility at A$10 overnight/per day. Breakfast is not included but is available at A$9 for an American breakfast, or A$12 for both continental and American. Short walk to the Hay and Murray Street Malls, in less than 5 minutes. Just walk through the London Arcade which is round the corner. Even shorter walk to the Swan River and the Harbour. Deluxe rooms have full length windows which offer spectacular views of the Swan River and the south bank. Hot water is available in an instant in the shower. Toggle between room heating and air-conditioning. Bed is VERY comfortable with medium-firm pillows.

The flipside:
*************
Non-smoking room reeks of stale smoke after room has been made. Either the chambermaid is a heavy smoker, or the doors have been left open while the smoking rooms were being cleaned. Also the path to the adjacent car park is like a dumpster and is inconvenient. Although there are access doors to car park on every floor, they are locked at all times. The only way is through the side door on the ground floor of the hotel. If you're very tall or very large, the largest beds might not suit you. Largest is a twin bed, nowhere near a king or even a queen. Lastly there is NO FREE INTERNET. However there is one computer station in the lobby with paid-for internet access.

Unique Quality: Pleasant stay, reasonable rates, picturesque view of Swan River. I don't think there is a pool.

NOTE: I tried booking this hotel through Travelocity but it stated it didn't have vacancies. What a lie. When I went into ReadyRooms.com.au, they had a place for me, AND at a lower rate.

Good Budget Hotel to Consider

Average but good budget.

Unique Quality: Recommending this hotel for its good value. AUD 77 including airport transfers (which would have cost AUD 13 per person) from www.discoverwest.com. Reasonably clean and comfortable. Good Location, just across the Swan Bells at Barracks Jetty facing Swan River.

More about The New Esplanade Hotel

Sometimes it pays to book first.

by scrooge1947 about The New Esplanade Hotel Perth

We arrived in Perth around midnight, got a rental car and drove to-wards town looking for a room, with the time difference and nearly an 8hr flight we were very tired.
What I did not know was The Royal Show was on and school holidays and accomodation was full.
We found this hotel in the early hours of the morning and whatever the cost we would take it. NOT A GOOD START. The one negative I can remember that car parking was available behind the hotel, but it did not have a direct root, so we had to carry every bit of luggage down the stairs of the car park buiding to the hotel foyer.
