Boshack Outback near Toodyay: Best Farmstay north of Perth

We enjoyed our stay at Boshack and I higly recommend it.

Boshack is a unique farmstay two hours north of Perth and appeals to so many different groups of people from family and school groups to overseas visitors to birdwatching and photography groups etc.

Most of my travelogues here consist of the fantastic time that we spent at Boshack so please take a minute or two to check them out. This is a great place to spend a day or two if you are looking for a unique off the beaten path place to stay during your visit to Perth.

You will need a car to get here and you will also need to book in advance. The price may seem a little expensive, but believe me.... it is money well spent. The all inclusive lunch, dinner and breakfast packages are worth it but please bear in mind that you will need to stock up on drinks and goodies in Toodyay before you arrive as you cannot buy them at the accommodation.

Please check out my separate accommodation tip for the various types of accommodation here.

Boshack Outback near Toodyay: Boshack Outback - Camping in style

Want to experience great Aussie Bush Tucker? How about going to sleep to the sound of crickets and waking up to an orchestra of Australian birds in song?

Have you ever smelt fresh country air, or bush walked amongst myriods of colourful wildlfowers in bloom? What about canoing in safe surroundings to the sound of just your oars.

And for the more adventurous, what about a horse ride through the countryside or helping shear the sheep or muster the cattle.

Or if that is not your thing, then maybe singing around the campire or taking photos of the mystical trees in the lake after sundown or early morning at sunrise.

All of this is offered and more by Boshack along with friendly staff with a smile and a joke or two that will make your stay most enjoyable.

Accommodation is tin bush humpies or large tents. The more people you include in your booking the cheaper it will work out for you that is why it is a good option for families.

The Freemason's Hotel

Maybe slightly topping the Victoria Hotel in charm is the historic Freemasons Hotel/Motel. Built in 1861 where the hotel was just a single storey, the additions came after wealth wasgained from the goldfields and wealthy miners used the hotel as their watering hole.

The hotel was formerly known as the Newcaslte Hotel. They offer dinner, break and breakfast in the hotel and also now offer new motel units with all modern facilities. There is a restaurant/dining room as well as counter meals.
