We arrived late afternoon on a mid winter day and started looking for bed & breakfast accommodation, none available. We saw the Bayside Villas, a standout as they looked new in this small town. We were lucky to obtain a 2 bedroom villa, really a small house with everything you need. Our villa was set up for family accommodation with the second bedroom having 3 beds, a lounge with a good size television, a kitchen , and a separate laundry with washing machine. The main bedroom was nicely furnished using local timber, a good bed gave us a good night's sleep. There is a gas BBQ.
Less than 5 minutes walk gets you to the Walpole Hotel which has a good dining room.
Cost for our overnight stay AU $90.
The Walpole Wilderness Resort is approximately 15 km's north of Walpole along Gardiner Road in a forest setting surrounded by rolling hills.
Accommodation provided as self contained 3 bedroom cottages that can sleep up to 10 people comfortably. The chalets are constructed of wood and surrounded by impressive karri and tingle forest with easy walk trails exclusively for guests.
The master bedroom has a large corner spa overlooking the valley and there is a separate ensuite shower. All linen and luxury soaps are provided.
Wood fires are provided and give the chalets a charming and cosy ambience particularly during the cold southern winter months.
