Avatiu Harbour by SWFC_Fan
Avatiu Harbour, located a short walk west of the capital, Avarua, is the main harbour on the island of Rarotonga.At the time of my visit, there were small fishing boats, yachts and a couple of large freight ships in the harbour. International and inter-island boats predominantly use this port.
It also seemed that companies were running fishing trips and diving trips from the harbour - I saw people waiting in their wetsuits by the side of the boats.
A number of simple wooden huts surround the harbour - these are in fact government buildings, such as customs and quarantine!
