Yvonne's Hotel: Yvonne's: Best Mid-Priced Hotel on Pohnpei
Yvonne's Hotel, operated by Dion and Vivian Neth, is a mid-sized hotel with the comfortable atmosphere of a family guesthouse. It is one of the best values in Kolonia Town and easily the cleanest and most professionally run establishment in the area. Centrally located near Telecom and several grocery stores and only 5 minutes from the airport, Yvonne's Hotel is extremely convenient. The hotel offers complimentary airport transfers to all guests (day flights only) and also rents small sedans. Three types of rooms are available--singles, doubles, and triples. Many rooms have kitchenettes and some have balconies looking over the town. The building and rooms are kept extremely clean, which is atypical for Pohnpei accommodations. Staff are welcoming and informative. The front desk in the lobby is attended until 9pm each night. Parking is available in lots both above and below the hotel (patrolled by a security guard after dark). The hotel restaurant, Kia's, offers a wide range of popular local fare, Japanese dishes, and fast-food at affordable prices. There's also a full bar. Yvonne's Hotel also operates J's Oceanside Bar & Grill about 10 minutes away in the breezy community of Mwalok. It's a great place to relax and escape the heat. Yvonne's is quickly becoming the preferred place to stay for government officials and visiting ambassadors as well as long-term residents (in addition to the hotel rooms, there are studios available for rent on a monthly basis). Yvonne's Hotel is strongly recommended to anyone visiting Pohnpei.
