I truly believe that the Warwick must be one of the finest resorts on the Coral Coast. I would recommend this little heaven on earth for numerous reasons..the staff must be the friendliest people on earth. aLWAYS AT BECK AND CALL AND WITH A BEAUTIFUL SMILE . The ammenities are numerous and well planned out. There are wellness centres, horse riding, snorkelling, sports activities on and off the beach, in and out of the pool. The rooms are a good size , with a beautiful view no matter which side of the resort you are on, The children are well lookes after whilst parents are tanning by the pool or beach sipping their long cool drinks. There is a choice of.... Italian, Japanese, buffet , barbecue or fresh fish at the Whacky Wahoo on the premises of the resort. The service is amazing.

The most friendliest, warmest people on this planet that I have ever met. The Coral Coast and the unique sea creatures found in it. Snorkelling in the crystal clear waters of the Coral Coast. The weather, the people, the coctails...

Wellesley Resort Fiji: A slice of paradise in the south pacific
  • Satisfaction:
  • We have had two wonderful experiences with the Wellesley Group. We stayed at this relatively new resort in February this year and just loved it. It is boutique in size with just 16 suites. There is so much room and privacy so it is a tranquil stay. We lounged by the pool for several days and loved our morning walks along the white sand beach. The rooms were beautifully furnished and were huge. The food was delicious and the hosts couldn't do enough for us. Well done Wellesley!

Their white sand beach is like no other - miles and miles of it and it's all yours. The lagoon is picture postcard perfect! The snorkeling was most enjoyable. Certainly a luxury resort but the price is not out of the way by any means.

Although it's pretty basic, I really liked it here, The staff are so friendly and really try to do everything they can to make the guests here welcome. It's a pretty small set-up they have: when I visited, in April 2005, there was only room for 11 people, and the most people staying there at one time was 6. So that made it a lot more intimate and friendly than other places I've stayed. They run daily activities, which include village visits, snorkelling trips, and lessons in local crafts such as basket weaving and spear fishing. The accomodation is simple but clean, and the location is perfect - right on the beach on a beautiful lagoon. As with most budget accomodation in the Yasawas, the cost of accomodation includes 3 meals per day, which are delicious, and electricity is only available between 6 and 10pm. I would definitly recommend this place, especially if what you're really after is some peace and quiet.

    luxury resort: Beautiful, romantic island
  • Satisfaction:
  • Sonaisali is a beautiful place with a stunning swimming pool. People are extremaly friendly and life seems to slow down over there. We chose Sonasali because of the fantastic wedding ceremony they organize. As we both culture lovers we were looking for something diffrent . Because we are quite adventurous we couldnt spent there more than 5 days, but for people who are looking for a peace and quiet holidays thats a perfect place. Especially after the season around June/July.

As the wedding couple our accommodation was upgraded to ocean view bure. Our "house" was huge, with a high roof and noisy lizard on the top( it was quite funny). Accomodation was clean and comfortable. Sonaisali has a beautiful swimming pool but beach was disappointing. The water didnt look inviting at all so we decided to stick with the pool. Resort area is absolutely fantastic for couples. Its very green and plants are beautiful all around the island. There is a 24 hours boat connection with the main land so it was easy to move around. Unfortunately the distance to the nearest town was quite long and taxi wasnt cheap. So we recomment this place to people who prefer to stay in on place during all holidays. Food was good and fresh but expensive and menu was very repeatable.

rustic bures and dorms: alberts resort, kadavu, authentic fijian paradise
  • Satisfaction:
  • THis resort is 100% fijian owned and run and is the oldest resort on the island. our stay was comfortable and the family made it memorable and easily the best time in fiji.

we turned up unexpectedly as the phone lines were down, this often happens so dont worry if you cant reach them to book. it is easy to get a boat from the airport or ferry drop of with a local, and the family will make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. The boat trip can be choppy but the scenery is stunning and worth every bump.

granma elizabeth is amazing, she looks after the kids and resort with gusto. ask nicely and she'll proudly take you around the gardens pointing out the food plants and medicinal herbs. the family history also makes a good yarn over tea/coffee

Bruce is head of the house and farms kava and taro as well as doing all the resort activities. he is boatman, dive master, surf guru, kava maker, trek leader and guide. If you want to do it he'll try and accomodate.

Ruth, 11 going on 25 is a gorgeus girl, very smart and friendly. she acts as server advisor and entertainment, while looking after her siblings, cooking and cleaning up.

there are several young kids so if you are travelling with children be prepared to loose them running wild with the locals.

the facilities are basic and not for the travellor who requires creature comforts. the shower is cold, but the water is drinkable as they have a spring behind the house. the bures are comfortable and basic, at night you are given a lantern. The main house where meals are served does have electricity when the generator works, it had broken down when we were there but candles and lanterns all added to the atmosphere.

it is possible to dive and surf the atrsolab reef, just a short boat trip away. the snorkelling is also excellent. there are several walks nearby. It was easy to waste a weeka dn we were gutted to leave so soon. we've recommended this resort to loads of travellers as we went around fiji and we'll be back as soon as we can.

almost everything is worth going for. the diving is some of the best in fiji. THe surf is gnarly. the food is without a question the best value for money. the atmosphere was also unparalleled at any other resort we stayed at. Take a walk up to the kava plantation and the veiws are amazing. its easy to fall in love with this place and the fijian life.

micheal the brother of bruce runs a local shop next door so you can grab basics and the village sells cigarettes, but we never found any alcohol. Bruces special kava blend more than compensates!
cash is prefered and there are no atms on the island so travel prepared. however they do take visa is you have to.

village stay in the jungle: in th middle of nowhere
  • Satisfaction:
  • One of the best experiences in my life - Staying with local people in Namuamua village. Please see Namuamua page

Accommodation is very basic, rather for experienced travellers, open for other cultures and ready to come back to basic. There is a public toilet and cold shower for spoiled one. We used rivers :-) Our room was small, with no glass windows , big mat, mosquito net and the rat for company. That was real life and we enjoyed every minute of it!
