Relaxing Location

This was a lovely hotel in a good location. We took a taxi from the airport to the Sheraton for $30 (FJD). Outside the lobby across the street, there was a pizza place, small grocery, and souvenir shop. This was convenient for eating and shopping. It was only $1 (FJD) to catch a bus or taxi back into Nadi (although drivers might try to charge tourists more if not settled beforehand). In town, there was plenty of shopping and restaurants. Saffron was an amazing Indian restaurant worth a visit. We ate there twice. There is a lot of influence from India in the available food, dress, and gold (22K). To get from town to the hotel was $12 (FJD). There is a restaurant at the hotel, but it is pricey (over Fijian $40 for breakfast and even more for lunch or dinner). The lobby of the hotel is attractive and the staff is helpful. We booked a boat tour to the outer islands from the tour desk in the lobby, which was well worth the money to see the picture-postcard views. The king sized bed was comfy and there was a large two-person, walk-in shower. We could see the ocean from our balcony. However, there did not seem to be an elevator. If you are traveling with someone with disabilities, you may want to request a ground floor room. We lugged our suitcases up a short flight of stairs to the second floor. There were bellboys who really wanted to help us, and I believe that rooms are usually cleaned each day, but we prefer not to use these services.

Unique Quality: The swimming pool was nice, as it flows through the landscape. Also, you can take the Bula bus to the Westin and swim in different pools there.

HOme away from Home

If you feel like treating your self, stay at the Sheraton Villas. Located between the Sheraton Royal and Sheraton Fiji, the villas offer facilities ranging from a "standard" hotel room style to 1, 2 and 3 bedroomed units with kitchens, laundries and separate living and dining. There is a choice of villas located on the ponds (pictured) as well as beachfront and pool front.

Unique Quality: Some of these units have great views of both beach and pool, are very well equipped, light and airey and a pleasure to stay in.

Sheraton Denarau Hotel

Top accommodation in Nadi, Fiji. It is an older building, accommodation is well spread out in a one storey accommodation in a beautiful park like surrounding. Our visit was quiet a while ago they were building additional 2 storey lodges nearby. There is also an adjacent Sheraton that is new modern with all its facilities on it like, clubs, restaurants and all the extras all of these is shared by people who stayed at Sheraton Denarao. You get a free transport to get around. The facilities are superb and perfect for family holiday. We rented a car and do a bit of driving in the villages to see the real Fiji. We went to Suva and stop at so many hotels along the way for a drink and lunch and just to see the different hotels in Fiji. Five star hotels are superb but others is really budget good for backpackers. Fiji has good beaches and it is safe to wander around. It is right at the beach so you get to swim in the beach do windsurfing when its windy, a bit of scuba diving, water skiing and then jump into the swimming pool when you have enough.

Amazing place to stay in Denarau Island

"Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple"

While staying on Denarau Island, Fiji on a 2-day layover on my way back from Australia to America, I explored the town of Nadi for a few hours and was pleasantly surprised by this small jewel of a temple. It offered a few minutes of peace and spirituality after an extremely stressful business trip.

"The Sheraton Denarau Villas on Denarau Island Fiji"

This is EXACTLY what my room was like when I stayed there, a true paradise haven where I could open my door and walk directly onto the beach! Heaven...
I should also mention that I had a couple of GREAT seafood meals at this hotel.

Transport from airport to Sheraton Denarau - how much is a taxi?

by 461fpr

I am thinking of getting a taxi from the airport as I'm not sure how to book a shuttle bus. How much would a taxi be and would it be by meter or should I bargain before we get into it? I think it is about a 20 minute trip. We will have a child with us so want the quickest and easiest way there.

Thanks

You'd be better off to get the hotel shuttle. Contact your travel agent and get them to organise it. All hotels have regular services in their minibuses. Just that it could be cheaper than the taxi. Don't bank on 20 mins either, as all sorts of things hold up the traffic there.

No worries dear..$20 Fijian, around AUS$5 is not so bad even if you get a taxi. But if you can contact the hotel it is fine, but be warned- they can take too long even if they say they are coming soon! They have a phone near the arrival but depending on your ETA the offices might be closed as what happened to us!

It should not take you longer than 20 -25 minutes ok? Plus it is more comfy in an aircon taxi-don't take the public bus especially if you got lots of luggage!
