Helpfulness
The most beautiful place I've ever stayed!
If you have your sights set on this resort, start saving your Starwood points for a free stay! Otherwise, the least expensive option is about $600/night!
It was probably the nicest place we will stay! The water was gorgeous, the beach was beautiful and the room was luxurious.
Each bungalow has it's own little platform where you can use the snorkeling equipment provided for you to do a bit of snorkeling. Then there is a little shower on the platform to rinse off before going back in your room. There is also a deck with lounge chairs and a glass square where you can see down to the water.
The walk in shower was huge, as was the bathtub! I put the bathtub as my tip picture because I really enjoyed it, but the whole thing was beautiful. I will include more pics in my travelogue!
The bed was huge with a canopy and a large tv and there was a separate little room with couch, chair, tv, and end tables that you could open up to feed the fish below. It was simply wonderful! See my travelogue for more pics! :)
Unique Quality: The overwater bungalows are fabulous and can't be found just anywhere!
by globetrotter_2006 about Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa
This hotel & resort was simply amazing. The staff is really friendly. Check my additional tips for more information in the hotel. It has a infinity pool, spa, fitness center, two restaurants, free internet, and plenty of activities. Just be aware......its rather expensive but you are in paradise !!
Eat, Dive and Sleep
by Bilimari about Bora Bora Dive Resort
Bora Bora Dive Resort has 9 "Tahitian style" bungalows with 3 on the water. It's run by Top Dive (see my sport tip). A perfect place to stay during your diving trip. The restaurant, Kon Tiki (see my restaurant tip) at the resort is one of the best French Polynesian style restaurants on the island.
The room was comfortable with large bed (mattress was a little too hard for me), desk, sofa, and table. Bath/shower, and separate toilet all in your room. Nice deck over the water. It's air conditioned, but we really didn't need to use it in early April. But be aware, if you leave the door or a window opened, you'll have some visitors such as lizard and crab. :) A family of puff-fish lived under our deck. I tried to feed them, but they weren't interested.
By the way, there's no TV (some rooms have), radio, not even a clock in a room. It's the best way to spend your vacation. (There are several outlets for electricity in a room, if you must listen to iPod, etc.)
Friedly 3-star Hotel in Bora Bora
by axelebert about Hotel Maitai
3 star hotels are rare in French Polynesia, so if you look for leveling between comfort and room rates you might want to consider this hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly, so I had a really good time. A little minus - the beach is rather small and the only shadow comes from the palm trees. Snorkel equipment and canoes are free for rent. There are offers for staying 6 nights - paying 4, with breakfast included.

Bora Bora's best Accomodations
by cara615 about Intercontinental Resort and Thallasso Spa
This place was paradise. Definitely six stars. We were there for our honeymoon - therefore it was all inclusive. The resort should not be confused with an older Intercontinental Moana resort that is across the lagoon. The Thallasso was built in May 2006 and the spa opened in Sept 2006. We were there in early October 2006 so the place seemed untouched. Our overwater bungalow was bigger than my old apt in Manhattan! It had all the upgraded amenities such as a rain shower and soaking tub in the bathroom, a huge king bed facing a picture window that overlooked the lagoon and Mt. Otemanhu (we woke up everymorning looking at this wonderful sight!), an espresso machine, 2 flat screens and a bi-level veranda/diving deck. We had everything we needed. No reason to leave the bungalow. We could even feed the fish from our living room as the coffetable opened up to the lagoon bottom. The 2 restaurants on the resort were 5 star quality. Splash and Reef had better food than any other restuarant on the island. We tried Bloody Marys, but we would have rather stayed at the resort. There is an infinity pool that overlooks the lagoon - its tranquil. In fact the whole resort is built like it was an entire spa. The actual Thallasoo spa is incredible. I have seen nothing like it. It has far eastern influences and the water used in the treatments has been welled from 900 meters below the sea level and is extremely cold and pure. In fact, the air conditioners are powered by this water. Its a "green" resort. We left for a bit to rent a boat and go diving and snorkeling at the coral gardens, but quickly returned to be pampered at the Intercontinental. If you are honeymooning and are just looking to relax, this is place to be. It is the best of the best!!
Only All Inclusive
by peaceofkeri about Club Med Bora Bora
This is the only all inclusive resort on the island which totally necessary considering the cost of food and drinks.

Bora Bora Packages
by lovinoz
Does anyone know of any websites that advertise packages including the flight from Papeete to Bora Bora and hotel in Bora Bora?
We do not need the international flights included in the package since we will be on a round-the-world trip.

Hi,
Check www.tahitinuitravel.com . I haven´t lived here long, but this polynesian travel agency seems to me professional and serious.
Also, www.airtahiti.com from the Travel Net group.
Hope it helps.

Natalia

Hi,
You could also check out Talpacific or Coral Seas. We did alot of research before our next holiday and ended up going through Talpacific. Air Tahitinui were also in the same ballpark as Talpacific with quotes. But do your research, as we had a variation of nearly $3000 for our trip.

Thanks! We decided to scrap Bora Bora for this trip. Way too expensive, we will do it another time. Just spending one night in Papeete on the way to South America instead.
