Hotel Le Mandarin

Seriously expensive - and awful

This hotel was getting on for £100 (almost $200 USD) for a night for the room, which you would think would get you something pretty nice!

You'd be wrong in this case. The hotel looks nice from the outside, and their website does a pretty good job too. However the rooms are very dirty and badly need decorating, and the bathroom looks seriously ancient too. I was flabbergasted when I saw what we got for our money. We did get to see 2 rooms, as we asked to be moved from our first room, and both were the same.

The one thing this hotel has going for it is the location. it is very close to the ferry for going to Moorea - you can walk there in a few minutes.

The other thing to bear in mind is that Papeete hotels have a reputation for being very bad and very expensive, so this may be a standard hotel! Dirty rooms!
