My recent stay at the Hawaiki Nui was disappointing not only because it rained almost all the time for three solid days (early January 2007) but because the hotel was so poorly run. There was no internet access at the hotel - they said that the computer "broke" a month ago, but why hadn't it been fixed? And I had a pair of flip flops stolen from the dock ( the one day it was not raining and I could swim). This is because the hotel management lets young thugs from the neighborhood hang out there. The management did buy me a replacement pair, but after that I was afraid to leave anything at the dock.
