    We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights, in an overwater bungalow (Motu). The room was lovely; well decorated with a great view of Morrea. Unfortunatly we realised just how close we were to the airport when the planes started landing in the middle of the night. We were woken twice on our first night by planes flying so close their lights shone through the curtains. The whole room shook and the noise was unbearable.

    We stayed before it became an Inter.Continental - it was then the Tahiti Beachcomber. Since we stayed it's been enlarged, renovated, improved - but it was fabulous even when we stayed there.

    We had an overwater bungalow during the first stay, then when we came back from Moorea we stayed in a garden room in the main block. Obviously the overwater bungalow is the best choice, but I can also recommend the main rooms.

    Just about everything can be called outstanding - from the rooms to the restauants to the beach dinners and the entertainment. We had a great time.

    Although this hotel is quite isolated, it is a fantastic experience as it is very self contained. The only issue is where to eat - whilst the hotel has a range of eating options, you will need to hire a car or get transport if you want to try alternative eating on Moorea. Some restaurants will pick you up from your hotel. We spent 5 glorious nights there and could have stayed longer.

    The hotel has a dolphin centre - where dolphins are cared for until they return to the ocean. Guests can view and/or swim with these dolphins - although this experience is quite expensive. The turtles in the turtle rehabilitation centre also remain until that are well enough to be returned to the ocean. There is a smallish guest pool - but an enourmous lagoon where the water is very warm. Also a beach to swim safely and plenty of snorkelling spots. It is very very safe.

    From what I hear this is the place to stay. We spent two days here while we waited to board our cruise ship. We are not ones to stay in four star hotels very often but this was worth it. Some of the other passengers on the cruise stayed at different hotels and where disappointed especially after hearing us brag about our hotel. The rooms were large but not huge. They were immaculately clean. Each room came with hardwood floors and soaker tubs. They had electrical outlets for any type of power outlet; there is no need to bring an adapter. All the rooms had balconies and faced the ocean. We had a ground floor room and it was great to just walk off our balcony and onto the beach. We were fortunate our rooms were in front of the nicest beach. There are only to beaches, both man made. Ours had real sand and a swim up bar. You do not actually swim in the ocean; the lagoons are separated from the ocean with a sea wall. The main lagoon is located out side the hotel lobby and restaurant and is made of concrete. There is a beautiful view of the lagoon, waterfall, ocean and Moorea Island from the hotel lobby. The restaurant and bar is an open air facility and they usually had a small band playing traditional music. The food was very good, you could order from a menu or saddle up to the 50 foot long buffet. They had everything you could ever want to eat. The people working there were very friendly and helpful. Checking in and out when flawlessly. It was well worth the money; about $200 a night. I you can afford it you can stay in one of the huts over the water; we were told it would cost at least $500 per night. They do a good job of providing you with the tropical island fantasy you see in all the travel guides and ads.

    Quiet and hidden from the hussle and bussle of the City of Papeete.

    This is a beautiful hotel, close (but not too close) to the airport, we only spent 2 days there, and next time we would definitely stay longer.

    The pool is amazing, huge with an infinity edge and waterfall. Next to the pool is a 'Lagoonarium' containing coral and fish. There is also another pool not far away which is also lovely.
