On our first day of travel, we ended up arriving at the airport at 11pm, which did not leave alot of room for sight-seeing. The taxi ride was not too far from the airport, but we paid through the nose because we did not know how much to pay (you should only pay 1000 xpf) or so.
The hotel had a very nice reception area, but I have to be honest, we did not see much else of it, because we had an early morning tour to head out on, and checked out at 8am!
We did try to have lunch, but I was not going to pay 30 bucks for it!
Staff were efficient - some staff lacked the friendliness I expected. Our room was horrible. We were upgraded to the superior lagoon view room - hate to see the other room. They definitely need to fix the bathrooms. They smelt absolutely repugnant. Service in restaurant was SLOW -entree came out in 10 min, main meal arrived after an hour. Would not stay here again & would advise others not to.
Sheraton Hotel Tahiti: Quinn's Bar before a cruise

The Sheraton Hotel, Papeete, Tahiti, tends to cater to the before and after cruise crowd. Whether you're staying for just a few hours before a late night flight or for a a few days, the Sheraton always seems to be the place I gravitate to.
Rooms are available for a quick nap before a flight or to shower after a dip in the pool. Quinn's bar on the lower level always has great snacks and well made drinks.
Sheraton Hotel Tahiti: Waterfront views from every room

We arrived early and could not get an early check in which was a bummer. Once we got into the room there was no soaps or towels for us. There was also a leak coming from the sink area. After numerous calls and visits to the front desk someone finally came to clean up the mess. The hotel gave us complimentary breakfast the next morning which was very good.
The bed was pretty comfortable and the room was spacious with a nice view of the waterfront. The hotel was in a decent location. By Le Truck it took about 10-15 minutes to downtown Papeete.
After filling out an online survey when I got home, Sheraton also gave me a nice amount of bonus points for the inconveniences we had!
Nice views of the waterfront and Moorea in the distance.
