Pacific Islands Club (PIC)

The Pacific Islands Club, known locally as just PIC, is a hotel in Tumon Bay, known more for its water park then anything else. This massive hotel has 777 rooms, 8 bars and restaurants, several pools, cultural events, snorkeling, and more.

Many reviewers note that the rooms are small, listed on the hotel's website as 33 square meters (355 sq ft or about 18 x 20 feet), and rates are a little higher than average for the area ($200/night).

Pacific Star, Tumon Bay

The Pacific Star, formerly the Marriott, is a hotel along the beach in Tumon Bay. The hotel is older and lacking some of the conveniences of the newer hotels like the Hilton, Hyatt, and Pacific Islands Club, but it is a good value for the area.

Te hotel has access to a nice beach, a small pool, a reasonably priced beach bar, a good fitness center, and a great restaurant (according to online reviews). However, the rooms are small and the bathrooms very dated, and the coffee machine at the front desk an absolute pain in the ass, despite them charging $3 or $4 a cup.

As an aside, the Pacific Star was a campaign medal of the British Commonwealth, awarded for service in World War II.

Hilton Guam Resort & Spa, Tumon Bay

The Hilton Guam Resort & Spa, Tumon Bay is a very nice place to stay, and it has every amenity you could imagine, but it is located a the quiet southern end of Tumon Bay away from the area's good bars and restaurants.

The positives: This hotel has it all... you could meet a girl at the pool, get drunk at the Tree Bar, get a message, pick out a ring and a dress at the shops, get married in the chapel, and stay in the honeymoon suite, all before your buzz wears off. Also, the water sports are popular, especially the snorkeling. Some of the restaurant (like Roy's) have to be among the best on the island. It also has a nice gym, a business center, an ATM, car rentals, bus stops for numerous companies and routes, and a huge gift shop.

The negatives: The rooms are expensive at over $200 a night, and parking can be tough, because the good spots can be gone quickly, especially on Friday evenings and Weekends during brunch. Wifi costs $10 or $15 a day, and many of the shops charge a 10 or 15 percent service charge on top of their already high prices. The rooms, even those recently remodeled, look old, and their attention to detail is lacking (our room had trash in the closet, no light bulbs, and an inoperable TV when we checked in). The biggest drawback is that the hotel is so far from the main areas of Tumon Bay ($25 taxi to The Beach Bar, for example).

Fiesta Resort Guam: Middle of Tumon Bay at Hotel Row (Part 2)

Part two of My fiesta Resort Tips with More Pictures!

the Fiesta Resort Hotel Area of Hotel Row in Pale San Vitores Road in Tumon is where I Stayed. The hotel is clearly one of the Most Packed and popular in the Tumon Area and is always fully booked. The hotel is quite a long walk away from the main areas of Pale San Vitores Road like Pleasure Island or Tumon Sands Plaza or DFS Galleria but you can just avail of the various Trolley Buses and Regular Buses that have stops at the hotel and other hotels in the Hotel Row if you don't want to walk. They have 2 swimming pools and has the best beach access along tumon bay (please see my pictures)

according to their Website:

In the tropical islands of Micronesia, as in many countries around the world, the word “fiesta” represents fun, celebration and a warm, cultural tradition. There is one place where these all come to life: Fiesta Resort Guam, a beautiful, boutique style Resort. Fiesta, with 318 rooms is ideally situated on Tumon Bay in the center of exciting hotel row. Each room is carefully designed to create a memorable experience, featuring a modern tropical atmosphere. Flight time is 3 ½ hours from Manila, and cities in Japan, 4 ½ hours from Seoul and Taipei. Airlines serving Guam are Continental, Northwest, Japan Airlines, Korean Air, Philippine Airlines and China Airlines.

Location :

7 minutes to Guam International Airport, 2 minutes to DFS & K Mart, 10 minutes to Micronesia Mall & Guam Premier Outlet.

the rooms are fairly large and are available in king bed or twin queen beds and also suite rooms and the rooms are divided into Mountain View (at $ 120 per day or $ 150 including taxes and breakfast and Ocean View Areas with the Ocean View areas more expensive at $ 150 per day (excluding breakfast at $ 15 and taxes, all in all cost $ 180 a day)but with a wide veranda facing the sea. Amenities include a mini-refrigerator, free bottled water everyday, Ice Making Machine in every floor and In House Safe. Sorry but you have to pay for internet service in the room but you can avail free Wi Fi Service at the Lobby and Pool Lounge Area 24/7.

Hotel Santa Fe

The Hotel Santa Fe in Tamuning is a rose-colored adobe-style boutique hotel situated on Hagatna Bay. The rooms were cheerful and sunny and the beds were comfortable. I was happy. The hotel's restaurant, The Grille, is around the back by the beach. It looked like a lovely place for a sunset cocktail and some beach BBQ. Unfortunately, we never had a chance to enjoy this little pleasure

Days inn Tumoning: A Cheap alternative

Well, they accept pets, thats why we stayed there. For pets you pay an additional $75 a week. Not to bad.

The receptionists were awesome, the entire staff was friendly and receptive and helpful to us. The room had a large King size bed, a refrigerator, microwave and decent size bathroom. The room was clean and airconditioned...BUT... we did have cockroaches in the room...BUT...this is normal on island. We found out later in the week that its normal and most hotels have them, but we only saw 3 the entire two week we stayed there. There was a nice balcony as well.

If you are military and go through island reservations, its $135 a night, and that includes a cell phone a brand new rental car. Not bad.

I am not positive of the room rates for civilians but I am sure they are reasonable.

They had a nice restraunt under the hotel, and 2 people could eat breakfast, lunch, dinner for $17 for the two for each meal. Not to shabby. Most hotels are around $50 for 2 people to eat.

The room had free internet, free movies to check out, excelent service and friendly people.

The sundance restraunt was nice, cheap and wel staffed.

Hyatt Regency

Guam is a beautiful place. We stayed during the month of October at the Hyatt Regency which is off of Tumon. The beaches are pure white and because of the reef's location the waters are pretty shallow. The people were pleasant and helpful.. It seems they do cater to the Japanese tourist and have competive pricing for high-line products (but it is tax free)... I enjoyed the specials they had and the whole feeling of luxury and comfort. What a gorgeous place to be.

Beaches and more beaches. I loved the pool and the convenience of the "ABC" stores at every corner. I was not looking for a hot exciting time but to relax and I found it there..

Great stay, large room. Food is excellent. Love the Niji (Japanese Restaurant) and enjoyed Al Dente (Italian Restaurant). FUN and RELAXING.

Beach is accessible and vendors can provide ocean activities. Love the grounds, well kept mature foliage.

Outrigger Hotel: Down at Pleasure Island

We had a great time here. We were able to walk to shopping and restaurants. We also saw a dinner show at the SandCastle -- magic show, dancing, & singing. Great family fun.

My son loved the pool. They also have a great gigantic chess set and fun pool bar. Attentive pool staff.

many: Hotel Row

In Guam there is, on the more northern end of the island, a literal "Hotel Row". This is self-descriptive, I feel. Here you will see A SLEW OF TOURISTS. The street signs on much of the island will also have the translation in Japanese, as well as "English", especially here, on "Hotel Row". For the "typical" Japanese tourist Guam is much like Hawaii is to the "typical" American tourist. So, if you want to step out of or rather all over the local culture in Guam... here is the place to stay. And if your anything like me and love Japanese culture, language, people, etc... here is an at home feeling type place for you.
Not cheap, that's for sure, but tourists have always been welcome and friendly here. So smile, have a chi-chi, "RELAX", and enjoy your stay, and be catered to... island style!

Most places on "Hotel Row" that a person can stay also accomodates a wide array of recreational opportunities and will assist in your preparation of guides, etc... before and during your arrival. (I speak from a personal experience of having the ULTIMATE PLEASURE of working for Greyline of Guam-it, as a sidenote, was my first job, i was 16....and love working with the Japanese people as well as the local Chamorro people {I was somewhat of a "Cham-owlie, myself :-)}
Both cultures intrigue and excite me!~)

Fiesta Resort Guam: Nice Stay@Fiesta Resort Guam

I stayed in a room with partial ocean view. Nice balcony. Washroom is spacious. Clean. Internet is in good speed though it is not broadband.
Breakfast is full of variety. Orange juice is good. Iced tea does not fit hongkonger' taste. We were a group of 10 and we all would never ordered iced tea again in Guam after 1st trial.
it is very comfortable sitting outside facing swimming pool having breakfast. Of course you can choose to stay inside with air-conditioning.
Staff is very friendly.

i heard Lady's Floor is great.
