Sweets Opal Cove Style by unravelau I have spent many happy times at this resort although I am yet to sleep there. Over the years I have had many meals and attended quite a few seminars, conferences and meetings here. Just recently, while it was too hot to dine on the deck (see website photo - overlooking pool), a couple of vters and myself had a most delightful lunch and Ian and I each had a sweet to drool over for weeks.
The resort reception is huge and overlooks and magnificent fountain area that leads to the restaurant and bistro downstairs -- and overlooking a fantastic pool. Considering its close proximity to the highway , the resort is screened both visually and sound wise making it a really serene hide-away.Website: www.opalcove.com.au/ - 6k

The service at Punga Cove was like what you might get in a Fawlty Tower’s episode but not at all funny. My advice to anyone considering staying there would be don’t waste your money and don’t waste your holiday. Holiday’s are meant for relaxing and relaxing and Punga do not go hand in hand. I booked for a group of people in the backpacker’s lodge well in advance. We were not told when we made the booking that we could not take alcohol onto the property and there was no indication on the website or in any other Punga propaganda that this was the case. But when we turned up with alcohol the owners made attempts to confiscate it. Basically they had decided that we were scum of the earth when in reality we were a group of accountants, librarians, Marketing Executives, Architects, small business owners and other assorted professionals. Staff at Punga on the whole looked miserable and when you have 20 miserable staff you can safely assume that management is responsible. The staffing situation was in fact so bad we were scared to ask for anything. It was a different story across the bay at Furneaux where absolutely nothing was a problem for them, staff were cheerful and terms and conditions on entering the resort were clearly stated on the jetty. It was really such a shame that the service level at Punga was non-existent because the location is absolutely fantastic and the facilities would be brilliant if maintenance was kept up (we found many of the facilities were broken so unusable). Under different ownership the place could be world class • right now it seems apparent the owners are just out to make a quick buck.
Beautiful location, stunning views but the worst customer service ever. The owner's of this place are incredibly tight. The water ran out entirely on the 2nd day, no apology no nothing - it took them til 4pm that day to sort it out. They kept the spa pool turned off to save money. And there was even a shortage of toilet paper! Dome tent by Kate-Me For me, camping is one of my favorite accommodations. A great dome tent, self inflating air mattresses, thick fluffy sleepingbag and pillows, small metho cooking stove and picnic basket, and I feel almost the comfort of a motel (at much much less the price, and with much nicer surroundings!)
Waking up and opening the tent and seeing the view out over a small lake, or the colourful desert sands of a northern camping spot. Being awakened at dawn by the calling of small birds and seeing tiny birds hopping around the tent as though nobody was there watching. Getting away from civilization, even for a few days, and seeing new sights and new views on awakening each morning. by Randall_Burt I stayed at The Four Seasons Great Barrier Reef Floating Motel. This Motel was built in Signapore. Floated down to The Great Barrier Reef and it was 2 hours by High Speed Boat to get to it. It lasted about 1 year and went out of Business. It is now in the Siagon River in Vietnam. It had 200 rooms. In case of a Cyclone it could be disconnected on one end and the wind could blow it around in a circle. It had already happened and the swimming pool was destroyed. $270 Night US plus $70 for roundtrip boat ride to it. Well, when I travelled our main stays were in campgrounds. Some of the parks will allow camping as long as you give a donation. But there will be nothing here, no running water, no washrooms, no nothing. Theme: CampgroundComparison: least expensiveDirections: In NZ, the place to be is Spirit Bay. Close to Cape Reinga. Good place to camp and meet the locals.

In Australia, the best lodging, I believe, is the Tree House hostel. This is located north of Cairns. If you want to be among nature this is the way to do it! The hostel is built out of logs and such. Contains no windows, and super comfy couches. There is also a donkey and a horse, 4 cats, and a dog. Not to mention chickens. Because you are right in the rain forest, there are a lot of creatures like bats, spiders, etc. But the experience is well worth it! For campgrounds you could be looking at $10-$25 aus a night. The hostels can be anywhere from $15-$25, except for when you stay at a hostel at Airly Beach. $5 a night! And it comes with breakfast! But keep no food in your tent because it will soon be surrounded by giant ants (that bit

Great Barrier Reef by Gwynneth Australia has the largest coral reef in the world measuring 2011 km in length and 72 km across at its widest point. The Great Barrier Reef can be reached from many east coast points and can be explored by private charters, daily cruises, seaplane, air charter and now, on special helicopter flights. It is a stunning place to stay for your Australian tropical island experience. This website about the Great Barrier Reef might be helpful to you for more information on this unique wonder of the world.
