Travel Tips for Apia
Adjust to the pace
Take extra time to explore Samoa. We spent three weeks in Samoa and probably felt like locals at the end. Dump the hire car and spend time travelling around the islands on the busses. They are an experience in themselves and worth the trip.
The places you stop are wonderful and the people are always helpful and hospitable. There is a slowness in time and a peace that is there.
Without doubt I would take a bike and cycle around Upolu with a fit friend. I would eat bananas and fresh fruit
rent a 4wd
rent a 4wd to get you around the island. trere is a sealed road around and cross the island, but off this road you will find a true wild expirience.
Don´t forget to drive 4wd track! It´s track trough the banana and coconut-palm trees with a stunning views and great spots.
My first time overseas.... The ideal place to travel if you are the type of person who dreams of tropical paradise.
Expensive to get to, Samoa is well worth the trip. Friendly people and amazing scenery.
Western Samoa- True Paradise
"The Absolute Pacific Paradise"
The 2000 Olympics were in Sydney and we felt it was a good time to get away from Australia and head for the Pacific Islands.
We were looking for white sandy beaches, quite places to have a swim and read a book. We didn't want restaurants all aroung us, jet skis and catamarans whistling past us as we swam and ( hopefully ) slept on the beaches. We found a piece of unspoilt paradise in Samoa.
