Auckland's Best Kept Little Secret
Located at the corner of Wellesley Street West and Albert Street, this modest hotel offers comfortable accommodations to people from all walks of life. With plenty of restaurants and eateries just beside it and a foodcourt behind it, residents of City Central have no fear of growing hungry. For the gourmet eater. Ponsonby Street Eateries is a half hour walk from City Central. Shopping area is just beside City Central if you want to buy gifts and souvenirs back for friends and family.
Unique Quality: It is just 5 minutes away from Sky City hotel. If you feel like gambling a bit, the casino is just nearby.
Numerous Cyber cafes dot the streets around City Central to ensure that you stay connected to friends and family through the Net in this new cyber age.
Borders is just around the corner at Albert street if you fancy abit of coffee and light reading after a day's of hectic activities and sightseeing.
It is also about 15 minutes from Queens Wharf where one can catch a ferry to quaint delicate devonport.

Centrally located budget hotel
I've read about this hotel that it's "ideal for the budget conscious traveller" and that's right. The room was OK, though a bit cold in April, and I was surprised to see that it had no ensuite bathroom. The location was perfect though, only a few minutes walk from downtown. The staff was friendly, but there was no 24-hour service and when I arrived in the middle of the night from Melbourne, my room key was in a large envelope at the reception desk. Maybe things have changed since 2002.
