This place has two rooms available for guests: a King size bedroom with ensuite or the Queen size room with private bathroom (our suite).
The room was pleasantly decorated and offered fantastic views across farm land and the estuary below.
The cost of the Pohutukawa Room in the high season was $145 per couple.
The breakfast served in the morning was divine! We had a combination of both continental and cooked breakfast with homemade museli, fruit, yoghurt, juice, and eggs (done various ways), bacon, toast, coffee etc. Melanie (our hostess) had made some lovely muffins each of the two days we were there.
The views from the balcony were fantastic! You can see Motuora Island and the Puhoi River. There is a gorgeous Pohutukawa tree in the grounds. The Pohutukawa Tree is known as the New Zealand Christmas tree and offers beautiful red flowers along the coast of NZ in December.
There is a communal dining room that guests can use to eat in or you can eat on the balcony.
There is also a spa pool available for guests which is private and has no time restrictions.
John (our host) was happy to lend us their kayaks and took us down to Wenderholm Regional Park where we launched the kayak and he picked us up in Puhoi a couple of hours later!
