Don't go Taking Mud Baths
When wandering around the thermal areas, there are many warning signs to stay on the track and not get to close to the boiling pools. They may look inviting as a nice relaxing spa but they are deadly.

Sarah and I were in the mood for a little dessert on her birthday, so we headed down to Rotorua's famous Tutanekai Street, which is the home to many great little cafes and restaurants.
The one we chose to stop in was Zambique, which looked to have quite an interesting menu, but the trio of ice creams and the other desserts got us going!
The presentation of these desserts were fabulous, with some whisked caramel topping that was delicious!
Ohinemutu can be quickly reached on foot from Lake Rotorua lakefront and it is a good place to visit a place where Maori culture meets the European culture.
Ohinemutu was once the main Maori settlement in Rotorua, and still retains strong links to its Maori heritage. A popular attraction is St Faith's Anglican church, on the edge of Lake Rotorua. Leave your shoes outside and admire the window depicting Christ dressed in Maori clothes, placed to create the illusion he is walking on the lake's surface.
A fusion of English architecture and Maori carving, this is a unique example of Christianity's acceptance into traditional Maori life.
A nice craft shop offers a wide range of Maori hand-made crafts.
First, you 'll need to take the gondola to the top of the hill. Take a good look at Rotorua from here!
There's quite a bit of activities happening up on top. My best pick is the luge ride. You control the luge only by the simple handle - release means stop, push down means go. It's looks simple, but when it comes to shape corner, you gotta watch out. Try "advance level" if you have the guts!
Also, geysers make it necessary for Rotoruans to entomb their dead above ground. Imagine if you buried somebody and the coffin rose out of the ground like Old Faithful. We walked through a Maori cemetery where they had the dead entombed that way.
