Albatross Motel: Affordable motel accommodation in Napier.
I stayed here with three friends during a long weekend get-away to Napier and the Hawkes Bay region in April 2006. The motel is situated in the suburb of Westshore in Napier. Rooms are simple, with the usual motel features of a bathroom & toilet and kitchenette. The motel is a short drive from Napier city centre (with its art deco architecture and enjoyable eateries and other sights) and a short walk from the waterside area known as West Quay. In West Quay are a number of bars and restaurants and a lot of new apartment style developments that took me by surprise.
Unique Quality: The motel is your run-of-the-mill motel. It has a spa pool, swimming pool, and rooms have Sky TV. Room rates vary from summer to winter. We paid NZ$65 each for two nights in April.

Westshore Holiday Park: Nice sparrows
This is something different. If you want to find some Kiwi's (as in the people) go here. It's some sort of a holiday park, with little houses for Kiwi's coming over in the weekend. The campsites are quite big and there are a lot of sparrows (and a fat pidgeon) that you can feed.
Unique Quality: Kitchen, bbq, laundry and a playground.
