Excellent Place To Stay in Wanganui
This is the place to stay if you are in the area.Modern,spotless,spacious,charming staff and very helpfull.
Most comfy large bed.10 mins walk to town.
Unique Quality: We were on the first floor,the room had a small modern kitchen,double spar bath in the room,and a seperate shower room with wc etc.Tv with freeview and some sky channels.Free internet.

Never again!
Reading these comments makes one wonder if management is giving guests a cut rate for a favourable comment as most comments are far from the truth.
First impressions, one would think this is nice accommodation. The design is poor and not at all practical. Service ok but as a previous guest mentions, NO milk!
Service/staff is fair at best.
Apparently, joint owners/managers and from my experience, the gentleman was warm,welcoming and very sincere. On the other hand, the Maori lady ( owner/manager ) was very rude,blunt and frankly, should never have contemplated being in the hospitality business at all. Mostly, they employ young staff to man reception which may be a reason why I am the first to mention my bad experience with this dreadful lady ( She may have had to fill in at the last minute for someone ). But that is no excuse for an owner/manager though.
I have stayed at many motels on business, mostly in the Hawke Bay, Gisborne, Taupo regions and Aotea Motor Lodge gets the worst possible rating from myself.
Would I recommend this hotel/accomodation to someone else?----- Absolutely NOT

Wanganui Accommodation #1 Choice
One of the best nights and one of the best memories in New Zealand. I heard Wanganui is a charming little English town with many old buildings and gardens. I was pleasantly surprised that I stayed at Aotea Motor Lodge - everything is NEW and modern! I had a warm and comfortable stay! This is definitely a luxury accommodation but pleasantly affordable. I will sell it to anyone I know going to Wanganui! :)
Unique Quality: Free broadband internet - what a breeze. Soft bed and spacious rooms!
