Whangarei Falls Holiday Park: Backpackers, cabins & camping
This predominantly van park belongs to the BBH Backpacker chain, & has backpacker rooms too.
We had a tiny box cabin just large enough for the double bed with overhead single bunk (indeed bed is bolted into either end of cabin, giving an idea of small size overall) and just enough room for a small ledge & about 3 feet of floor space in front. No ensuite, but for $19 pp plus $3 for linen hire, we felt we had a pretty good deal. Our cabin was attached to 2 other tiny ones like ours. Outside dining table undercover area for the backpackers.
Good kitchen facilities for van & cabin guests, with 2 sinks.
The park's best feature, in my view, was the swimming pool (not heated), with spa room behind it. The guest lounge with tv and several sofas was also rather good.
