Adelphi Motel: Excellent value

Spotless, affordable accommodation - close to town, quiet, with helpful friendly front desk folk. Excellent for our requirements - Mum, 2 teenagers and a pre-teen on a budget. Only complaint was low water pressure in the shower but that's a very minor grizzle.

Unique Quality: Great for our budget.

Bayview Chateau Tongariro: A Classic Mountain Chateau

The old grandeur with a bit of oppulence, and you feel quite comfortable in these lovely surroundings. The staff know their job very well and are there to serve and give a wonderful experience. For New Zealand, this old chateau style of accomodation is very rare, so for me this is a very special place.

Unique Quality: During the winter months it's quite possible for snow to be down around the Chateau and it can really be a magical wonderland.

Great Lake Holiday Park: Peaceful

This campground is 3 km from the city centre. It's really big and has a lot of trees on it. It's really quit and peaceful. There also are cabins and tourist flats.

Unique Quality: Volleybal court, childrens playground, games and tv-room, private spa and bbq.

Taupo YHA: Hostel

Unlike most YHA Hostels this was infact a nice place which i wish we could have stayed longer at.
It had a great kitchen, very clean rooms and bathrooms as well as table tennis to keep u entertained. Its amazing what things entertain u when u go traveling. It was in a great location too. seconds from a large supermarket and the lake and just a few minutes walk to into the town,
Definitely would recommend the place.
