The Waikato in town - and the town in the Waikato
The Waikato River is New Zealand's longest and mightiest river. It dominates the Waikato region and also the city of Hamilton. Several high bridges link the suburbs and the city centre.
There are not many outstanding buildings in Hamilton but this beautiful church caught my eye. It is not far from Waikato Museum, on the opposite side of Victoria Street. The name is Old St. Peter's.
There was an interesting shell in front of the church.
I had to check out if I could hear the sound of the sea - but there was nothing.
