I just fell in love with the quaintness of it.

Balloons Over Waikato 2008
"COLOURFUL AND EXCITING SPECTACLE"
The annual balloon fiesta in Hamilton is a great event for family to visit, and it's free entry. Naturally most activity is early morning but that fits in with parents taking the kids to see the balloons, before school and work. A handy and informative insert goes out with the local newspaper with programme of events and times. As well they include a full list and description of balloons and a place for children to get pilots' autographs.

OVERSEAS BALLOONS
Most years there are many balloons from overseas. This year they are from Belgium, Brazil, USA and Australia.
HAUNTED HOUSE BALLOON
The Haunted House Balloon came over from Brazil and is a very popular Special Shape balloon.
HAMILTON LAKE
The venue is Innes Common which is situated right next to Hamilton Lake making it a very picturesque place. Often the lake has fog giving wonderful photo effect opportunities.
