Watch out for the GST

4 Adults and a toddler stayed in a two bedroom apartment - the second bedroom was a cupboard with 2 single beds with 2 inches in between and a rickety portacot in the remaining room at the bottom of the bed. The kitchen and lounge area were nice and roomy though - and there were two toilets, a large bathroom with bath and full laundry facilities. On the Sunday they don't provide breakfast stuff unless you go down to reception and demand it.

The main reason to stay here is the location - every single thing is within walking distance and it's on the main bus route from the airport - it's also on the flat which is a major consideration in Wellington.

The real stinger is they always quote without GST even if you have made it quite clear you are travelling for pleasure rather than business, and then when they give you the price and you take off the 12.5% it's not the amount they quoted. When you question this they tell you you don't understand GST. Well I understand compound interest...

It can be quite noisy, but Wellington calms down quite early and if you have corner room it's fascinating watching the world go by.

Unique Quality: The building is a triangle, so in some of the rooms you can see 4 different streets. It's an old bank building, so it's got quirky room shapes and a lovely lobby.
