by mountainpoet There is nothing much here but some nice flat spots to pitch a tent. However, you do have the Waimak River right beside you, and some great views, and if you are really quite at night you might even hear a Kiwi.
Nothing much but there is a shelther with a fireplace. It's extremely cheap -- free. Theme: OtherDirections: coming from Christchurch, once you've past the Bealey Pub, and crossed the Waimak bridge then you are there. The Rest area is just before the road re-enters the bush.
