Gothic arches and green lawns.
by worldkiwi
The Art Centre, which was once the University of Canterbury, is a wonderful place to savour the architectural heritage of Christchurch. I think the correct term for the style of architecture here is Gothic Revival. The archways and green lawns of the intimate quads are beautiful. If you are walking down Worcester Ave, just wander into the Art Centre and have a look around. Even if you don't want to look in the little arts and crafts shops that fill the buildings now, the architecture is worthy of a visit.

Jade Stadium is home to the Canterbury Crusaders, in Christchurch. The Stadium is sponsored by JADE Software Corporation who are a New Zealand software company based in Christchurch.
The Canterbury Crusaders are the team that wear red and black and are a very successful team in the Super 12 rugby competition.
Mount Cook National Park
by victorwkf
It is possible to visit Mount Cook National Park within 1 day, with impressive views of Mount Cook (highest mountain in New Zealand) and other snow-capped mountains. You can try the helicopter ride which is simply amazing. If you have more time, do stay at the Hermitage Hotel in Mount Cook National Park which will give you more time to do some simple hiking and enjoy the natural beauty of this place.
Late Night Party
by travelteacher about Sticky Fingers
This place was absolutely fabulous both nights I hung out there! The first time I was there on a weekend, and it was packed with all sorts of locals and tourists. The second time it was a week night, and although it was much more mellow, the vibe was still good.
The wait staff was VERY attentive at the bar; and although I never actually ate there, the presentation of the food going to the tables was nice. I don't think so.
Sunshine Shuttle to the places YOU want to visit
by Kakapo2
The Sunshine Shuttle buses are "only" vans and very flexible. They transport you to the attractions that are neither on the public bus routes nor serviced by the Black Bus (Shuttle to Christchurch's Best Attractions), for example Orana Wildlife Park near the airport.
As we live here we do not need this service but I have often seen the vans on the Summit Road, the passengers enjoying the views over Lyttelton Harbour and the Canterbury Plains - so views for which you normally have to walk/tramp for hours or need a car.
The shuttle picks up and drops off on request.
They operate from Cathedral Square, corner Worcester Street.
They are easily recognisable, the words "City Attractions" in red on yellow, and under this in smaller print "The Sunshine Shuttle".
