This five star B&B is competing with The Worcester next door. The style is totally different. Although beautifully restored in Italian style this piggy-pinkish solid home does not really blend into the English heritage area of the Arts Centre and the surrounding weatherbord houses. Despite this the location, of course, is very desirable and quiet. And stepping out of the house you are right into the city life and the great choice of nice cafés and restaurants of the Arts Centre.
They have different types of rooms, from super deluxe suites to corporate rooms, twelve in total.
They say they are not suitable for children but take children over 12 and babies.
Rates including breakfast (checked out for Nov. 2008 in June 2008): Super deluxe suite $ 449 Super deluxe twin and double rooms $ 349 Deluxe room $ 299 Corporate room $ 249
Note: I have only stayed at some few places in Christchurch as I moved in rather fast with my husband ;-) But as so many people want accommodation tips I have looked around quite thoroughly, so I can give you hints about location, rates, reputation, and how easily you reach it from the city centre. In some cases I have also talked to people who have stayed at the places I have listed. The only thing I cannot really check is the service and the friendliness of the hosts/staff.
