Hanmer Springs is nice little mountain town that has become crowded with tourists all flocking for the natural hot springs and therapeutic waters.

Last Visit in December 2005

A beautiful getaway for many locals from Christchurch. Many holiday homes dot the hillside for rent. It is a thermal resort with a really laidback atmosphere. but be warned everything shuts down very early here (before 7pm). I guess everyone heads back to their holiday homes after that time to party?
