I did not stay at Lake Ohau but in Twizel. But to give you an idea I will list the possibilities you have directly at Lake Ohau. Be well prepared: There is no shop and no nothing along the lake, just the village with mostly weekend homes. The rest is peaceful remoteness.
Lake Ohau Lodge is located just 15 minutes from the skifield and sits high above the road, overlooking the lake, Ben Ohau Range and Mt. Cook. It has 62 rooms with 4 standards of accommodation, all with ensuite bathrooms. The cheapest single room costs NZ$80, a double $90 and triple $107, the dearer rooms cost $145 (single) and 160 (double). You can book the rooms at special rates with breakfast, lunch and/or dinner. Discounts for lift passes ($51). Ski season normally from 14 July until 30 September. All rates valid until June 2008.

The Round Bush Campsite is not far from the Lodge, on the right side of the road.
The Weatherall Motels you might spot near the end of the lake - at Lake Ohau Station - have closed down. The station has new owners, so it is possible that they will re-open them at some point.
The views are spectacular and they have their own ski field for the winter months. Food is good and the bar is often full of young funloving travellers for isolated entertainment.
