On Top Backpackers
Nice relaxed non-affiliated hostel. Clean and tidy. Open air deck area. Good kitchen and communal area.
There is a pool hall downstairs, which also serves as the reception.
Dorm bed 23NZD a night or 20NZD a night for longer term stays.

Dunedin On Top Backpackers
walking distance to Octagen about 5mins. New, safe, neat, cosy, clean, and afforable stay. Big and clean kitchen and dining area. Below the hostels, pool table pub. Washing machine per wash at NZ$3. I booked a twin room bed at NZ$26 per person for twin sharing.
Unique Quality: situated within city centre and walking distance to casino, supermarkets and resturants. all rooms are located at 2nd flr.
