by rob12c

Me and my girlfriend will be in Queenstown for christmas and we would like to know where a good party hostel in Queenstown is, so we can meet other travellers and have some fun?

Thanks

I would recommend you have a look on Rankers.co.nz - people can review and rank different operators based on their experience with them. There is a section for accommodation which, you should have a look at.

Travel Tips for Queenstown

Queenstown From Above

by cnango

Not only is Queenstown beautiful on foot it's stunning from above. Here are some shots we took while flying over the Remarkables,Alpine Forests and other pristine nature like the green rolling hills bisected by beautiful aqua rivers & lakes.Queenstown From Above....not to be missed!

Keep your feet warm

by shereeree34

If you come in winter, thick woollen socks and water proof shoes/boots, if your feet get cold and wet, its time to go back to your room. You can also get great little heat packs that you can shake and slip into shoes, if you put them by your toes especially, your day will be so much more enjoyable. A good moisturiser and lip balm as it can be very dehydrating in Queenstown and surrounding mountain areas. If you go camping or to some of the fishing spots nearby you definitely need insect repellent and citronella candles, or repellants that you can burn work well too against the sandflies. Also, remember good sunglasses, for when your relaxing at a cafe, even in winter, as we get alot of clear sunny days.

Just a small elastic band.....

by grets

By the time we wake up this morning, David has changed his mind abou the bungy jump. He woke up about two in the morning with palpitations and developed a yellow rash down his back! Brent said he was pleased that it proved that at least there was some sanity in the family!

We stop at a 143 foot high bridge to watch some idiot jump off attached to a rubber band.

I am left waiting and waiting building up the anxiety on the bridge while they have a break. Even Brent has deserted me. The rest of the bus are down at the viewing platform, cameras at the ready. From a bus load of 44 passengers, there is one person jumping, 42 people wathcing and one person turning the other way (my mother).

My feet are wrapped in towels and secured by luggage straps after I've climbed through the bridge safaety railings and on to the platform. Next the elastic is attached, then I waddle to the edge of the platform (which is not easy when your feet are tied together and your knees are rattling). I pose for a photo with the company newsletter, and then for the countdown.

Enjoy the Park like Grounds at Walters Peak

by cnango

Walters Peak High Country Farm and Colonel's Homestead are located on the shores of Lake Wakatipu. The park like grounds around the Homestead are filled with a variety of trees. There are also several flower filled gardens with inviting benches strategically placed to take advantage of the lake view.

After having enjoyed the buffet dinner we decided to go for a tramp (walk) around the grounds. Even though it was after 8:30 on a warm summers night it was still light out. We met a couple really nice local ladies who were also taking in the atmosphere and struck up a conversation We got along so well we ended up spending several hours together and then met the next mornig at a cafe for brunch.

Great Food, Stunning Nature and Friendly Native People ......... A Perfect Combination !

Queenstown Duck Tour

by cnango

A unique way to explore Lake Wakatipu and other Queenstown sites is by DUCK!! The Queenstown duck is an amphibious vehicle that can go on both land and lake. This 90 minute tour is fun for the whole family and the guides are very knowledgeable and also funny! Don't forget to bring a camera there lots of beautiful scenery along the way.
