Parking in Queenstown
by kiwi
Parking in Queenstown can sometimes be a problem although they are building more carparks. When I visit I often find parking in the area of Camp St, Earl St. This is roadside Park 'n Pay. You must walk to the machine nearest your carpark and pay for a ticket. The limit is 2 hours and this cost me $4. Not really a lot for downtown parking. You can pay by credit card or cash, and you receive a ticket which must be displayed visible on the dash board in the front of the car.
Wilson Parking have an underground park in Church St and are building more , where you can pay $4 per hour to the maximun of $10. And if you are there before 10am, an all day fee of $5 .
There are also carparks in Memorial Street, Gorge Road, Athol Street and Stanley Street.
Queenstown Rafting
by DarkRay
If you have never tried it before and have a relatively good heart, do try one of the many rafting trips which many of the fine rafting operators in Queenstown has to offer.
I believe one of the best operators is Queenstown Rafting, which has a very good track record, as well as reputation. We tried out a Shotover River Rafting Trip (with grade 4 rapids) organised by them and really enjoyed it.
Initially, I was a little apprehensive since I am really not a very adventurous person by nature, but took the plunge anyway and it was certainly worth it! Just your towel and maybe an extra set of clothings! They provide everything else.
Toasting away by the lakeside of Wakatipu
by bali_junkie
Got up late that morning, like always :D, feeling completely refreshed. Since we needed to get internet access in late afternoon, we decided to hang around in the city center. There're rows of cafes right across the lake, but it seemed that the crowd were attracted to something else. Large billboards bearing colorful photographs from around the world with a little description below were lined up along the park. Wait, there's something else..... a few local artists placed blocks of tiles in the park, some sort of "walk of history", dating back from 1800 up to 2007..... Quite an interesting touch.
It was still 3 more hours to midday. Got plenty of time in our hands and we decided to spread our blanket on a carpet of fresh lime green grass by the lake. What a great spot! Chilled white wine in a glass, a plate of sliced cheese & smoked salmon. Perfect! We're all set for the afternoon. I've never realized how much I miss the sun. How warm it felt brushing against my skin. Hmm, toasty!
Lazying under the afternoon sky, giggling, sprawling, breathing in the breeze coming in from the lake. Aaaahhhh..... Luv spending days like this with you, babe.

Arrowtown is a quaint historic gold-mining town situated in the Central Otago region of South Island, New Zealand.
It is just 20 minutes away from Queenstown.
Arrowtown is a very small quaint town and takes only a few hours for you to walk around. It is worth a day trip and it takes about an hour from the nearby towns.
It Has To Be Good
by travelteacher about The Bunker
Like all good places in the world, this one is hard to find!
We never actually got to eat here, because we did not heed the warning: MAKE RESERVATIONS! (The smells coming from the kitchen were outstanding.) The bartender will pour a proper cocktail if you hang out at the bar long enough!
