Relief stop.

At the south end of the waterfront part of town, you can find a couple of auto loos (toilets). They are the kind that close up and clean themselves periodically through the day. So most always they will be clean and fresh. With pushbutton electric doors and locks, they take a second or two to work out but once done you find them very convenient. These ones are easily accessible with beachfront and nearby parking. Also a big park there for the kids to have a run, and plenty of eateries only a minute's walk away. These must be described as "The Loos with a View"!! I like the way they have been constructed from the local stone, making them look very fitting.
THUNDER CREEK FALLS/ GATES OF HAAST
by balhannah
Another waterfall in the Haast Pass and located close to the road, is the Thunder Creek Falls. This is a graceful and narrow 28m waterfall, dropping from the level of the glacier ice when a glacier was carving out the future bed of the Haast River 10,000 years ago. They fall into the pretty Blue Haast river.
In the Gates of Haast gorge just above the waterfall track, you will come across enormous boulders and steep walls.
There is a car park and a short walk of 5-10 minutes that is wheelchair-accessible. Do stop and have a look!
There is wheelchair access to the Falls.
Puzzling World
by imstress
The Puzzling World of Stuart Landsborough is like a mini science centre.
You will bypass it when you enter the town of Wanaka.
When you arrive at the car park, you will see the huge maze in green colour.
The Leaning Tower of Wanaka is one of the most photographed architecture in puzzling world. Take a close look at the face of the clock and you will find it so interesting as it is running backward since 2000.
Dont forget to take a pic with the Famous Four Tower. You can take the stairs and have a better view of the area.
The roman-style toilets are the most talked about. Excellent photographic tricks can be done over here, so strike a pose.
The Puzzling Cafe provides you with many different kinds of puzzles to solve. When you are getting impatient and need some solution, ask the staff to assist you in solving so that you wont lose sleeps over it. You may also purchase the puzzles back home as souvenier.
There is an admission fee to the Illusions Room. There is a room with all the faces following you as you move and the slanted room which makes me so giddy that I couldnt even walk. Another hall display all the hollowgrams.
Take up the challenge to try the challenging maze. If you cant find your way, there will always be emergency exit door. You may purchase a join admission ticket with Illusion Room or just the maze.
If you have time do spend half a day there since they are open at 8.30am.

by imstress
We didnt hv uch time to do the Mt Iron, Mt Roy, Mt Aspiring, Outlet Track or Diamond Lake.
Instead we chance upon Bremner Bay which is along Beacon Point Road where we stayed.
The Bremner Bay was overlooking Ruby Island.
You may do some wate sports like fishing, boating, paragsailing, yachting or take a thrilling jet boat ride.
There are many beautiful houses overlooking the lake side.
We stayed at Wanaka Bakpaka which is situated at lakefront and it was the most pleasant stay throughout out trip in South Island.
