Go skiing @ Treble Cone
by Tripack
As I was missing my Swiss alpine mountains, I decided to go skiing on the NZ Alps... It was a great experience and the surrondings view was outstanding!
At each time I took the detachable 6-seater chairlift I could chat with friendly local skiers/surfers before to run downhill again and again...

You could rent all ski equipement in sport store at Wanaka (cheaper option) or directly @ TC.
I remember that the full day pass was quite expensive (even for a Swiss...) : around NZ$ 75, but I manage to get a NZ$ 20 discount with my student card. Nowadays I read on the website that ISIC cards are not accepted ;-(.
Cinema Paradiso
by robertgaz
Cinema Paradiso is a small movie theatre where you will find comfy old sofas and an old Morris Minor as your seating. It's a bit like watching the big screen from the comfort of your own home.
At half time we had a short interval and everyone went outside to the adjoining cafe for freshly baked cookies or some homemade ice cream.
I settled for pizza and beer which was ordered before the movie started and ready for intermission. What I didn't finish was put on a tray to take back into the theatre to enjoy while watching the rest of "Is Anybody There?" starring Michael Caine.
Roman Style Toilets
by imstress
You must visit the toilets when you are at the Puzzling World.
There are 3 toilets, one for the ladies, the other for the gents and ?The Roman Style Toilet" which is in between the 2 washrooms.
The foreground is a mural of the Roman Style Toilet and is extended into the distance.
You may go in between those Roman Characters and pose with them.
This could be the most photographed toilet in the world so take lots of pics here.
Streets of Wanaka
by imstress
We took a stroll along the streets of Wanaka.
There are many restaurants along Ardmore Street which is a very long stretch of road towards the Mt Aspiring.
We saw rainbow at Helwick St over Mt Iron.
Lakeside Road is where all the hot properties are located with lake front views.
Wanaka bakpaka is along this Road.
Stratford Terrace and junction of Russell is wher Paradiso Cinema is located.
The Puzzling World is located along Luggate Highway 84.
Wanaka and Queenstown
by oliNZ
Wanaka is a beautiful lakeside town in the centre of the South Island of New Zealand. Most famous for its winter sports, Wanaka is the place to be for snowboarding/skiing combined with a fun atmosphere in the winter!
With 3 ski-fields within 20mins of the town, it's the perfect place to be based for a winter of snow action.
My friends and I usually head over for the winter university holidays.
