Drive to BLUFF
The town of Bluff is located 30ks from Invercargill.
It is the OLDEST EUROPEAN town in New Zealand, being settled in 1824.
A drive up to the top of Bluff Hill is a must.....on a fine day!!!!
Beware, the weather changes quickly here. We started at the bottom in sunshine, and by the time we reached the top, clouds had rolled in, and it was starting to rain, as such, my photos aren't much, such a shame, as you could see it would have been great views.
From the lookout on a fine day, you should see views of the Southlands mountains, plains, estuaries and islands and the Island Harbour, with views of the Tiwai Aluminium Smelter at Tiwai Point on the other side of the harbour entrance. .
From Bluff, you also catch the ferry to the nearby Stewart Island.
