The Globe was a rather impromptu stop, but we were glad we did. The owners (Bruce & Joy) were more than helpful. Our stay was the best of our road trip of the South Island. The rooms ranged from $17 bunk rooms to $40 doubles to $60 suites. Being in the off season, they politely gave us a larger room for the lower prices.
The rooms were clean, well heated, the beds comfortable too. The kitchen facilities were also possibly the best of our road trip. The kitchen had separate industrial grade stove tops and ample supplies.
The Bar attached to the hotel caters to locals and guests alike. Its a relaxed town bar with a pool table, dart board and some big TV to air the games if they are playing.
Fully stocked self-cook kitchen is at your disposal. The rooms are basic, but perfectly comfortable.
