Te Anau Lakefront Backpackers is located on the lakefront of Te Anau town centre.
It has a good view because of its central lakefront location. It is a great base camp for Fiordland hiking, especially Kepler and Milford Tracks. You may book your kayaking, cruising, diving adventures in Milford and Doubtful Sounds tours from the reception.
Internet, TV room , BBQ, and parking are available.

stayed in a 4 beds room dorm. Was allocated a back block unit. Not lake view. Only the reception shows a nice lake view but it was at another block. From my ground flr unit, to go to the toilet, i wil need to work out to the open and then to walk into the ground flr to reach the ground flr toilet. Only first flr have 2 shower room, 2nd flr only for toilet. Its very inconvenient to go up in the morning when the weather is very cool. Room and bed are old.
I do not recommand for this backpacker.

This is quite a big backpackers with lots of big buildings. The location is great right on the lake shore.
They have little appartments with two double rooms and you just share the kitchen and bathroom with two other people.
Big organization behind this backpackers. They organize all the trips, you can hire bikes, lots of washing machines.
