Hilltop Hotel

Best view in town

The Hillside Hotel sits up on the hill above the main part of town and has a commanding view of the new harbor, the old harbor and the Catholic church. This is a great little place to stay in Neiafu. The hotel is small (only about 6 rooms), but the staff is extremely friendly, the breakfast was fantastic, the views are unbeatable and the rooms were great (in 2006, they were newly remodeled, with new everything... high-quality beds, linens, a new bathroom, AC, etc.). When we stayed there, it was the same price as a crappy room at the local youth hostel and the rooms were at least 100 times better. Seriously. We were blown away at how much better this hotel was than most places in town (and for a much better price). If we go back to Neiafu, we'll definitely stay here. One thing to note, getting to the hotel is a little strange... when you drive or walk there, you'll go on a dirt road, past a quarry of some sort (there may even be a couple of junked cars), but don't let that get to you. When you get to the Hillside Hotel, its worth it.
