A Little Gem

We loved Coconut Palms so much that we are going back. Last time we booked a medium cost room. It was small but adequate. On the first night, the airconditioner went berserk, rattled, leaked and we called the management a couple of times. The next morning they upgraded us without even asking, for the remaining 5 nights. The upgraded accommodation is excellent and this time we are going straight for it rather than mess around. The staff are just exceptional. I had an airbed for the pool which I found hard to blow up. I asked the staff if they had a pump, they didn't, but insisted on blowing it up themselves. This time when I go I will take some proper chocolate to sprinkle on my cappucino, thick milo just doesn't cut it. The resort is a good walk into town, probably 15 minutes, and a pretty good up hill walk back, no tsunamies at this resort. There are two small shops very close by, one with its own flexiteller machine and if you are propared for a 1km walk each way, le Bon March is a fully fledged western supermarket. If not, the bus costs 100vt each way, about $2.24 total. There are no bus routes, you just flag down a minibus with a bus number plate, tell them where you want to go and they take you there, probably not directly but you will get there and enjoy the views around Port Vila on the way. By the way, if you need a dentist, you flag down a bus and say,"I want the dentist at number 3", and you will be taken to an Australian dentist with no hastles whatsoever.

Unique Quality: Great pool, close to the museum and parliament. Pretty central to everything. Wonderful staff. Reletively cheap.
