We will be visiting port vila on our po cruise wlii we have enough time for a day trip we arrive at vila 6am and depart 66pm how much are the different day trips i am travelling with an ederley yet fit lady.
Last time I was there was in 1997, so many things might be different. For me it was wonderful to hire a car and drive around Efate. Wonderful Eton Beach in front and Ni-Vanuatu women washing their clothes in the river in my back. These wonderful trees everywhere. And the rain forest. At that time you could seee old villages build with banana sheets. In the west of Efate is a wonderful remote place, if I remember right it was namend: Beach comber. The fish is excellent, the beach is excellent, the people are excellent.
To drive around Efate takes you around 6 hours minimum due to the street conditions. Be careful to get a GOOD car.
Prepare yourself a little bit with the history of Vanuatu, specially during II. world war.
Maybe that I feel just a tiny little bit of envy, bad envy.

The best place and rate to change money in Port Vila is "Goodies" on the main road through the town. Goodies is a combined money exchange / souvenier shop located right in the centre of Port Vila itself. They sell handicrafts and also have a small counter for money exchange.
Right next door is a small round shaped restaurant that serves delicious and huge sized hamburgers.
This place is UNBELIEVABLE! When you book, ask for a table by the water's edge. You won't regret it. The river is lit from underneath and you can see all the fish (and there are a lot!) swimming around under the water. You can feed them from your table, we were tipping the bread crumbs off our plates all night. The lighting is magnificent, the food is lovely, and the entire experience is absolutely magical. I cannot stress enough, if you only go to one restaurant in Port Vila, make it this one! The lamb cutlets were very tasty. I'm afraid I was too busy gawking at the view to go into much more detail about the food!
