 | Antigua and Barbuda Reviews | Tips 1 - 10 of 48 | | We really enjoyed our stay, it was our first visit to the West Indies. Rooms were very spacious, restaurants were great, breakfast amazing (a lot of fresh fruit).
We didn't use the pool, the beach was only 2minutes away. Leave a Comment

Galley Bay is an adults only, all inclusive resort. If you are so inclined, you wouldn't have to leave the hotel for your entire stay. We stayed in a premium suite, which had a terrace leading directly onto the sand. The bathroom had his and hers showers, two sinks, and a double bath. There was a sunken living area with wetbar too. Not plush by any means. In fact the whole resort has rustic charm rather than plush marble etc. Here is a picture taken from inside the room, of my husband posing on the beach. The food is a la carte, waiter service. So no queuing up for buffets all the time, and feeling that you are eating the same thing every night! On Wednesdays only however, is beach bbq night, where you order your steak, fish, chicken, rib etc, and help yourself to the array of dishes avaialable. They also have a hog roast that night too. Drinks were all top brands, no limits on what you could and couldn't have. I must be honest and say this was our first all inclusive holiday and will probably be our last. It reaffirmed that we like to walk into the village and find little restauarants ourselves, rather than being restricted to one place.
The atmosphere was lovely. Absolutely classless (as in nobody is better than anyone else). Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$180 and up » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than average

This is an older facility with beatiful grounds and beach. It offers some exploring and hiking adventure. For a great time on the water look up the Kozy Kat Catamarran we went with a guy named Freddie. We spent 2 days touring the island by water. Stopping to snorkel and see the sights. We didn't book the all inclusive package so we found a grocery store and took advantage of the refrigerator in our room. For less than the price of one person on all inclusive we were still able to eat well and save a lot of money to spend elsewhere.
The pools were beautiful but we preferred the beach. I won this vacation through Sky Auction. Paid $33 per day. Thank goodness our room had a refrigerator! Leave a Comment Theme: HotelAddress: ResortPhone: 800-345-0356Directions: 20 minutes from VC Bird International Airport

This is a wonderful hotel, perfect for a stress-free break. It was my first experience of an all-inclusive resort, and it has given other AI hotels a LOT to live up to! There are three types of room: the Gaugin cottage, which consists of two little thatched rooms (one bedroom, one bathroom) with an inter-connecting corridor. There are sea-front cottages, where you literally step out of your front door and on to the sand. We stayed in a beachfront room, which was spacious, extremely clean and had a lovely balcony on which to relax with a drink in the evenings as the sun came down. All rooms are comfortable and have air-conditioning and safes. The hotel is set in the grounds of a nature reserve, so it is pleasant to stroll around. The area used to be a sugar plantation, and there is a ruined windmill on the site. There are sporting activities such as tennis and table tennis, and you can use the hotel's bicycles if you want to travel a bit further (although they looked a little ramshackle to us!) There is a beautiful swimming pool with a manmade waterfall - if you don't fancy swimming you can just sit in the cool water with a cocktail from the pool bar. The beach is stunning, but we didn't see many fish so snorkellers may have to travel outside the resort for a better experience. There are two restaurants and the menu changes every night. The food was excellent at every meal (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner - not a good place to stay if you are on a diet!) There is a beauty spa at the hotel, but we didn't use it so I can't say what it was like.
Excellent and friendly service - Mike, the maitre d', called every guest by their names the whole time we were there, like Mr Memory. The pool and the beach are beautiful, and we became very fond of the wonderful rum punch that the hotel makes. The hotel does not allow children under the age of 16 (I think there is an exception to this over the Christmas break.) Leave a Comment

Antigua is known as the 365 beaches islands. Actually I didn’t discover so many but those I did were wonderful. On one of the best beach of the island is located the Jolly Beach Resort. I think is among the worst place I stayed in the Caribbean and one of the oldest resort born there. For this reason, the beach chosen is so beautiful!!! Anyway, the Jolly Beach Resort is a 3 stars all inclusive resort. It offers more or less 400 rooms and the white 2 floors building stretches widely on the beach, surrounded by a tropical garden. The rooms are extremely basic and you can get a discount if you are willing to get a smaller room. The are two restaurants, one is a buffet of everything but, unfortunately, everything is of medium-law quality. I would have preferred less quantity and loss opportunity of choosing but a better quality. Unfortunately I didn’t visit the second a-la-carte restaurant, because man were allowed there only wearing a shirt with collar (so no T-shirts admitted for man). My husband had only t-shirts so we couldn’t eat there. What an idiot rule, isn’t it? But we were told it was not so good. The only thing that Jolly Beach offers (besides an affordable price, considering you are in the Caribbean) is the beach, so long and so uncrowned. The swimming pool is also nice but the sea is much better. Obviously, if you are interested in taking advantage of the all inclusive drinks, it can be a sort of paradise. I would recommend it only if you are REALLY interested in Antigua without spending so much like other higher quality resorts cost. on Jan 19, 2008 I saw a quotation for this place, 7 days all inclusive, flight from and to Milan Malpensa for 1340 euros/person.

This couples only, all-inclusive hotel far exceeded my expectations! The rooms were beautifully decorated with fresh flowers on the bed...we got upgraded for free and had a private pool (to be shared with only a few other rooms) right outside our patio door! The restaurants served incredibly delicious meals and were located beachfront. It was so romantic! Tips and everything were included!
