divi divi tree at night by kevin_d This resort is in downtown Oranjestad, along with it's partner Renaissance Marina Tower across the street. It is within walking distance of many many shops and restaurants, and adjacent to the marina and seaport casino. The suites have a kitchen and a separate bedroom, with balcony or patio. Service and facility is top notch. I highly recommend this resort, especially for the first-time visitor. Great place to walk around and take it all in, no need to rent a car! Marina Tower rooms (across the street) are not suites. The hotel is attached to the mall and shops.
The free-form pool is large, with a swim-up bar. The jewel of the resort is the only private beach in Aruba, Renaissance Island. A short 10 minute ride by water taxi, it's the place to be. Iguanas the size of dogs, pink flamingos, calm clear water, bar/restaurant. you stay in a small cottage like place, seperate from everyone else with your own deck in front and grill. in the back you have a secluded garden area with lawn furnature and a brazilian style hammock. nice kitchen, living room, bedroom, and large bathroom. id highly recommend this place, friendly staff, 2 blocks from beach, the farthest resort to the north/west of the beaches so you can walk north and be basically alone or south to all the high rises and meet people.

pool at the marriot....nice waterfalls in the back by xristinaki it costs about 900-1000 a night at the marriot ocean front.....we just walked around the grounds and it looked amazing. Located on plam beach, it gets very crowded. Theme: HotelPrice: US$180 and up » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than average

The Sunflower Villa is owned by Reinke. This is a very small complex, not the Marriot, so do not expect Marriot services. The price was right for us, and if you're on a budget then it's right for you too. We are not high maintenance and were not looking for anything special. So here are some pros and cons: Pros: There is a very nice pool where you can relax, but we never got a chance to test it out since the beaches in Aruba are better than any pool. -cable TV.....GREAT MOVIES ON (only watched while one takes a shower or at night) -full kitchen/living area -nice/clean bathroom cons there is very little maid service....we came back only 3 times with a bed made...toilet paper was not refilled, and you must ask for towels. -there are 2 or 3 dogs that live with the owner and bark pretty loud in the morning, so if you are planning to sleep in....well it may be hard to do so. ...so if you can keep the place clean yourself and love dogs, then this shlould not be a big problem...if however you are picky then do not stay here..... you get what you pay for. It did it's job and put a roof over our heads and a bed under our heads. If you have a bigger budget then go somewhere else. We did not like this resort too much. The food was bad, the hotel needed work and the pool had too many kids. We went when Natalie Holloway went missing and there was tv camera lights directly across from our room. The people seemed to be a little more uptight due to the situation. On the beach people came up to us offering us drugs. Toward the end of our vacation a group of teenagers came and were loud and distracting.
On the plus side, the casino was a lot of fun. When we went the previos year, we spent a lot of time here at the Exclesior. They have poker tournaments and the staff is really nice. Theme: InnComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Palm beach

The food was delicious and there was always a huge varity. The pool was relaxing and cool. The casino was fun. There was nightly entertainment also. The rooms all have ocean or part ocean/pool views and were in great condition. I knew they've renavated since then so i'm sure they even better now. This is a great place to stay. It is near town so you can walk to most places and it has a private island. The hotel has a boat that travels back and forth between the hotel and the island. It is really beautiful. Theme: HotelComparison: about average

We stayed at the Wyndam resort, Far more High end than I'm used to but my grandmother was coming and I was getting married so it was a splurge. You do get what you pay for though, Very good service nighe rooms, a good Spa and Hairdresser on site for my wife, a florest to make our boquet. I must say, while I will continue to huntout the great vacation values, great hotels at good prices, I really enjoyed going with the high end for once.
I called 2 weeks before we went and they had a person there to help set up the wedding with the civil registry, to talk to the florest to schedule a spa and hair appointment for my wife the day of the ceramony. All was very well done and professional, but it was expensive, the Bouquet alone was $80. Though I guess that's not bad compared to US prices especially if the wedding in question is your only event. The one downside is that the Hotel is far from the city center. This means Taxis and Taxis are not cheap here. Worth considering when you draw up your budget.
