We loved this resort, the food was excellent as well as the service. Plus Dunkin' Donots is right on the beach.

Occidental Allegro: Great all-inclusive
The food was delicious and there was always a huge varity. The pool was relaxing and cool. The casino was fun. There was nightly entertainment also. The rooms all have ocean or part ocean/pool views and were in great condition. I knew they've renavated since then so i'm sure they even better now.

Renaissance Aruba Beach Resort and Casino: Great Hotel
Great hotel and nice rooms.
A lovely private island, with grat beaches, you go there by boat.
Unique Quality: Nice pool at the hotel and suites.
In the middle of the town.

As far as I know most people...
As far as I know most people stay in the big luxurious hotels on combined trips, I rented an appartment which turned out to be pretty cheap, so look around and you can still find a bargain.

The Hyatt Regency...
I was lucky enough to stay at the Hyatt. Very expensive but I believe it's the best hotel on the island!
Unique Quality: They have wonderful grounds, a couple of great restaurants, a decent casino and Red Sail Sports has a location at their beach.
My number two choice for a "high-rise" hotel is the Radisson.
