  • Flamingo on the private island - Aruba
    Flamingo on the private island

Renaissance Resort&Casino has an own private island, where they take you by boat. The island is really nice with two white sandy beaches, though it might be little crowded. The other beach is meant for families and on the other side- no kids allowed!

On the island there's also a restaurant serving nice meals and drinks during the day and a spa which is also owned by the hotel, like actually everything there.

There are lots of pink flamingoes and iguanas hanging around the island and they love people taking pictures of them.

    Renaissance Aruba continues
  • Satisfaction:
  • Renaissance Marina is the new hotel building for adults only and it has splendid restaurant L.G Smith and a casino. As the name says, the hotel is in the marina and has no beach, but there is a swimming pool and boat taking you to the private island from INSIDE the hotel.

Renaissance Ocean Suits is older resort but its' a big size complex with many many restaurants (including taco bell and subway), shops, small beach and a casino.

We stayed at Ocean suites and really enjoyed it!

Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa: Serenity in Aruba
  • Satisfaction:
  • Manchebo is like our own little home in Aruba. We enjoy it very much and find the staff to be very friendly and accomadate any special request you have. The rooms have been redone with new furniture and flat screen TV and they always keep on top of the cleaning. The service is A PLUS.

I strongly recommend a stay at Manchebo for anyone who is looking for a fair price in a central location that gives you easy access to everything the island offers. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain in experience.

Manchebo also houses one of the island's top restaurants The French Steakhouse. Great food here if you are looking at a nice place to dine and put a little romance into the night. Or simply kick back and throw your hat on backwards and grab a bite at The Garden Terrace. The chicken parm is to die for. I loved and actually had it twice on my last visit.

How can I forget the lazy days on the huge beach and running back and forth to the Pega Pega Beach Bar & Grill. Fran, John, Ignacio do a great job bartending and keep the Happy Hour rolling.

Located on the biggest beach on the island Eagle Beach with direct sunset views. It is very nice to basically take 5 steps out your door and you are standing in the sand. What you won't get here is the over crowded narrow beach that you find at the high rise section.

Loved it! Clean, very large, full kitchen, very large bedroom, balcony that faced the ocean to watch the sunset and right on the beach! Staff was very accomodating. Pool on premise as well as restaurant that is connected to the beach. The beach itself is huge, very clean, low waves for wading or snokeling.

One pool and one baby pool, internet service, ping pong table, small swing set area, restaraunt right on premises.

  • We had a one bedroom apartment. It was clean and had a great view of the ocean. The beach was wonderful, Matthew's restaurant was great for Breakfast, Lunch AND Dinner... excellent cuisine. We could have arrived and never left the facility... it was that wonderful....

Views, romance, pool, DINING was exceptional... they had gym facilities, and were walking distance to anything you might want.

  • I booked the Radisson after reading glowing reviews in both guidebooks and websites and while it was a nice hotel, it was a lot more expensive than the midrange hotels and I wished I had saved the extra money and booked a different property as it wasn't a good value for us.

Nothing besides the room was included, we did get a $100 food and beverage credit but otherwise you had to pay extra for all food and drink, no watersports were included, some people were even paying extra for the better located palapas.

The Radisson is in the high rise hotel area in Palm Beach, I liked the beach here although Eagle Beach is a nicer beach, Palm Beaches hotels all have palapas which is a must for me and my fair skin. We were always able to get a palapa but I imagine in high season you have to go stand in line at 4 pm every day to reserve one.

Check in was a little rough, they first tried to give us double beds, then they were going to put us on the ground floor, finally we ended up in Room 3310 in the Curacao Tower with a king bed and our view was the Westin and Riu next door (we paid for a garden view, not sure what view we actually got.) The room was large and well decorated, the bed was a sleep number bed which I didn't care for at all. The refrigerator was broken in our room and others, I think this might be intentional so you don't store things in your room. Minibar was removed, one of the lamps didn't work. Room had an ironing board, cheap hair dryer, in room safe.

Bathroom-toiletries included soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion plus bathrobes. Towels were OK but not fluffy. Water pressure pretty low but plenty of hot water. Bathroom door wasn't solid, had slats, so you didn't really have privacy in the bathroom.

The grounds and pool were probably among the nicest in Aruba, lush grounds and a zero entry pool that went on forever. Very few people hung out at the pool so it was very quiet.

There were many restaurants in the Palm Beach area, restaurants in Eagle Beach or Oranjestad are a short cab or bus ride away. The best restaurant we ate at on this trip was at our hotel, The Sunset Grill, and so was the worst, Gilligan's.

Playa Linda Timeshares: First line pleasure
  • Satisfaction:
  • A friend of mine invited me to join him for his vacation. He has bought a timeshare - apartment in Playa Linda hotel. I must say that this is not the most luxury hotel on the island, but the service is so good, the animation for the guests - welcome parties(free) for the new guests every monday, water aerobica, other water gymnastics, salsa lessons, barbecue parties and so on. It was an absolute pleasure to be in this hotel.

Apart from the very nice pool it has, it also offers a very nice warm jacuzzi for its guests. The food in the restaurant Azzuro on the teritory of the hotel is also delicious.

    Renaissance Hotel: Awesome hotel
  • Satisfaction:
  • Although Aruba has many hotels and resorts, the Renaissance's location - right in the middle of downtown, with its own mall and five minutes from the airport- makes it the best hotel in town. Being a 5-Star hotel helps as well with its private island and everything.. what can be better than that? For business or pleasure, I believe is the best!!

Private island, great bar and pool, good food, casino, mall, excellent location.

Occidental Grand Aruba Beach Resort & Casino: Occidental Grand Aruba Beach Resort & Casino

  • My stay was amazing, the ALL INCLUSIVE food was brilliant, there were so many restaurants to choose from with in the resort that you could go to a different one everyday of the week.

The facilities were superb, they had entertainment that didnt pester you to join in, you either did or you didnt. The pool, and spa were very very clean and hygenic, and spacious.

The weather was constantly sunny, with the odd tiny cloud. With the trade winds though you don't feel the heat so make sure you wear sun tan lotion, otherwise you will get burnt.

The rooms were lovely, you ha king size beds, a mini bar, a luxury bathroom, a TV, Ocean view step out balcony or patio. Fully air-conditioned, Hair driers, Private room safe, Large private baths, Walk-in closets. The list goes on.

The beach was one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, soft, fine sand, with clear waters.

Ocean view step out balcony or patio.

And it had a large casino, just dont spend all your spending money in there.

You could go on boat trips, and other excursions. A scuba diving trip i went on, i got to swim around a sunken battle ship from the second world war. The trip was amazing.

    I REALLY RECOMMEND THIS TRIP!!!!!
