Serenity in Aruba

by mnhouston01826 about Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa

Manchebo is like our own little home in Aruba. We enjoy it very much and find the staff to be very friendly and accomadate any special request you have. The rooms have been redone with new furniture and flat screen TV and they always keep on top of the cleaning. The service is A PLUS.

I strongly recommend a stay at Manchebo for anyone who is looking for a fair price in a central location that gives you easy access to everything the island offers. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain in experience.

Manchebo also houses one of the island's top restaurants The French Steakhouse. Great food here if you are looking at a nice place to dine and put a little romance into the night. Or simply kick back and throw your hat on backwards and grab a bite at The Garden Terrace. The chicken parm is to die for. I loved and actually had it twice on my last visit.

How can I forget the lazy days on the huge beach and running back and forth to the Pega Pega Beach Bar & Grill. Fran, John, Ignacio do a great job bartending and keep the Happy Hour rolling. Located on the biggest beach on the island Eagle Beach with direct sunset views. It is very nice to basically take 5 steps out your door and you are standing in the sand. What you won't get here is the over crowded narrow beach that you find at the high rise section.

Best Beach

by AuntieMame about Manchebo Beach Resort and Spa

2004 was our first year at the Manchebo. We chose it because it is right on the beach, has an excellent restaurant, and has easy access to the parking lot. I asked for a room that was close to things so that too much walking was not required. Vivian gave us room 15 – an ocean view close to the lobby and the parking lot. It was perfect.
Our room had two very comfortable beds with lots of pillows, a table and comfortable chairs for lunching in, a ceiling fan, an excellent air conditioner, a small fridge, coffeemaker, iron (yeh, right), and hair drier. There is a safe in the closet and plenty of hangers as well. The bathroom vanity had more than sufficient space for toiletries and the shower was strong. The tub had six corner shelves for soap etc and a clothesline as well. We were quite pleased.
The resort is small – 71 rooms – with a wide beach, the best steakhouse on the island, and a good sized bar between the beach and the pool. There is a computer with free internet access in the lobby and a well stocked mini mart.
The Manchebo has a beautiful new spa. We did not use the spa this trip but we met folks who did and they were very happy with the services.
The staff at the Manchebo is excellent – friendly and highly competent.

Manchebo beach is at the bottom of the picture. Eagle beach, where the LaCabana is located, is in the center and the high rise resorts on Palm beach are at the top.

Manchebo OK

We stayed at the Manchebo from 10/07-10/14. It was very peaceful and quiet. The beach is wonderful and the staff is very responsive. The only problems we had were with the "singing" toilet in our room (#26). We were told it was due to water pressure. We had to keep the bathroom door closed the whole time in order not to hear the toilet "whining." Also, the ice machine was broken for most of our stay. It could be that the repair people were busy and couldn't get to it right away, but it was annoying because we had to go to the Pega Pega bar to get ice and the bartender (particularly, the woman) was not pleasant about it. The rooms come with a hair dryer, an iron and ironing board, soap/shampoo and body lotion. I enjoyed my stay; my friend wasn't too happy about the toilet or the ice problems.

The sun in Aruba is very intense and it is very humid there. The people were very helpful and friendly. Take the bus for transportation instead of cabs. It's $2.00 round trip to downtown or the highrise areas. Aruba has the best drinking water!

We ate at the French Steakhouse. My meal was excellent; my friend's steak was somewhat tough so she was compensated for it.

Iguana Joe's has great ribs and drinks. It's casual dining.

We went to King Hong's supermarket to get alcohol and snacks because drinks can be costly night after night.

The Red Sail catamaran sunset cruise was awesome. Free drinks and hors d'oeuvres. The banana boat ride was awesome. Take a tour of the island or rent your own car and make up your own tour.

Manchebo has the best beach

by A TripAdvisor Member

Stayed at the Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa a few weeks ago and simply loved it. The staff is friendly and very courteous (Ada, Swinda, Nacio and Alex are the best). The beach is so huge you would not believe it; so much better then the crowded Palm Beach hotels. They recently opened a spa on the beach. Massage therapist Jolene was very professional. You simply lay down in one of the gazebos overlooking the ocean and dream away. Get an Aruba Ariba from Ignacio the crazy bartender. Can not wait to get back.

Beuatiful beach, laid back hotel - loved it!

by A TripAdvisor Member

My boyfriend and I just got back from 7 days at Manchebo Beach Resort and we loved it! If you are looking for big, ritzy or loud, this is not the place for you, but if you want a laid back, low key and relaxing (also reasonably priced) vacation you'll love it. The beach was beautiful and never crowded. The resturant was OK, maybe too pricey but we found the service to be very good. I wouldn't recommend this as all inclusive b/c the food is not outstanding and there are so many good resturants to try. The staff was friendly and helpful with anything we needed. They helped arrange several activities for us. Our room was fine and had a nice ocean view ( I would recommend rooms 6 or 7 for the view). The room had a small fridge, a safe, a hair dryer and an iron. We had a problem with the sink which they promptly worked on (result was improvement but not actually fixed). And again the beach was far prettier than any of the others we saw. Overall we really enjoyed it and can't wait to go back next year!!

Best service ever and an amazing beach

by A TripAdvisor Member

A really nice hotel with the friendliest personnel and the best service ever. The food in the French Steakhouse was wonderful and the service was great. The beach is incredibly big and every guest has his own cabana and lots of space. We walked on the beach along the other hotels and the beaches over there are so crowded. We never had that problem at Manchebo. The sunsets are beautiful and the new spa on the beach is great with a nice discount when you are a guest of Manchebo. We hated to go back to The Netherlands so hopefully till next year!!
