The hotel is comprised of three blocks of accommodation : Flower, Calais and Goldwater, each offering a different setting and view. I stayed in the Flowers block which is a garden block and slightly separate from the main hotel. I stayed on a room only basis. The rate quoted below is the average room rack rate; I booked via www.expedia.co.uk and paid GBP57 a night (including taxes and service charges - worth noting that Barbados charges a 10% service charge on all services, including hotel rooms and restaurant bills).
My room comprised of a sitting/dining area with kitchenette (with ceiling fan), bathroom, balcony and separate bedroom (air-conditioned). Soap, shower gel and shampoo are provided from wall-mounted dispensers. The hotel provides beach towels on check-in and these can be swapped for fresh ones at reception each day (US$10 payable for loss).
The hotel has a pool, bar/restaurant, fitness and meeting rooms.
Free WiFi is available in the reception area; a separate internet room with computers is available for those travelling without a laptop.
Take a taxi from/to the Grantley Adams International Airport - BS$35 (US$18).
This is a smaller, quiet hotel and will not appeal to those looking for St Lawrence Gap's party atmosphere.
Immediately at the beachside of the hotel it is rocky; access to the beach is via a small ramp to the side. This beach offers little shade and the hotel's sun loungers are not allowed on the beach.
The manager hosts a rum punch party every Tuesday evening between 6:00pm and 7:00pm which is useful for meeting other guests if you are travelling solo.
The hotel operates a 'no unregistered guests' policy so if friends are visiting they will not be allowed into your room.
